Great quality for a starter Kit
Nsag3 19.06.2013
Well, let me tell you a couple of things about the Mapex Tornado drum kit.
I purchased this kit as a beginner drummer and it does the job to get you started. It came well packed, only 2 boxes and it's very easy to assemble. It does include a stool.
Regarding the kit itself, it's very well constructed and you won't have any problem with the Toms moving around, the hardware is sturdy and gives you plenty of possibilities in terms of how you like to set your kit.
It does come with cymbals but please not that these are provisional because you will be changing these when you have a bit of extra cash. They don't sound great as you would expect for a starter drum kit, cymbals tend to be sometimes the most expensive and important part of your drum set.
I would suggest if you were thinking of spending a bit more, go straight for the Mapex Horizon or Meridian range, you'll gain a lot more in terms of the cymbals, still no the best but playable. The hardware is far better and the difference on the snare is noticeable as well.
Overall, it is a good kit to get you started, it will last at least a few years until you feel that you are ready for something better.

Good value for money
Ben910 29.09.2014
Don't get me wrong: for the money, it's great value, sturdy built and was easy enough to put together. It's just for ?100 or so more, you can get a much better kit.

I honestly have no idea how the Thomann team managed to get such a good sound with their demo audio, especially with the cymbals: if you're going to buy this kit, make sure you buy another set of cymbals to go with it, as the ones that ship with it are pretty much unusable.

Pros:
- Decent shells, might have to clean the insides out a bit beforehand.
- Easy to set up and get playing.
- Cheap(-ish).

Cons:
- The cymbals. My word, they're awful. Like bashing a gong made out of feral cats.
- The snare and bass drum are really hard to get sounding right.
- It's very resonant, I'd recommend using some moongels or something to stop the leaks.

Very nice Drum kit for the kids start with.
Very good acoustic sound.

However, buy some cymbals with it. The included ones don't worthless

But even without counting the cymbals, the drum kid is well worth the moiney

An okay starter
Vladhimmir 30.10.2018
As a starting band we chose to get this drumkit along with Millenium PD-669 Stage Double Bass Pedal, and for the price, it?s an okay starter.
