Exactly the sound I was looking for
Will W 06.04.2021
I purchased this pickup as a replacement for the neck pickup of my J Mascis Jazzmaster. The stock pickup was fine, but it didn't nail the classic Jazzmaster sound as its essentially a P90 rather than a true Jazzmaster single coil.

My local luthier swapped in the Antiquity (and a Lollar JM P90 in the bridge), and now my guitar completely nails the sound I wanted. Cleans on the neck have a lovely body to them, nice and articulate, a little bright but still with a great warmth.

Also, while I wasn't a huge fan before, now the rhythm circuit sounds stunning, rich and mellow, perfect to pair with a Big muff.

When paired with the slightly hotter Lollar, the middle position has just a touch of quack, where before there was no reason to use it as it was just a muddier version of the bridge sound.

If you're looking for an upgrade to your stock pickups, I can't recommend this pickup enough for the neck position.
