Very good stand
I have started using another stand but still have this sitting in the music room with another instrument on it. It is a very good stand, but I got a better one when I walked into a sale. This Stagg stand is very good though! The only thing is you need to close the holder around the neck of the violin. My new stand closes around the neck of the violin when you hang it up. I still own this one and use it from time to time and that says enough.

Suitable for Mandolin as well
I purchased it as a mandolin stand. it fits perfectly.
Pros:
* quite steady for its price
* May be used as both a mandolin stand and a violin stand
* has soft material like sponge on all the places the instruments touches it (it does not scratch it)
* adjustable height
* the bow "hanger" is adjustable as well
* good price
Cons:
* its base does not fold, takes up more space than would be expected when stored

Pretty nice
It's very compact. I use it for yamaha sv 255(?) So size fits but I'm not feeling safe when i lift it with violin. The quity could be better. Rubber very very soft and after 30 min violin sitting you can see deep sign in it.

Good mandolin stand
I use this for a mandolin and it is a stable and secure stand. The neck and body rest on the typical foam you find on many stands.
Pros:
- Cheap
- The neck rest is also secured at the front side so your instrument won't fall out if somebody bumps into it
- Sturdy, good materials
Cons:
- Neck rest tends to move (rotate) slightly to the right when tightening the screw
- The "locking bar" on the front side of the neck rest is not horizontal but slightly angled. In other words, it is not exactly level with the floor.
These cons are aesthetic. The stand is 100% functional. If you really want perfect looks, you might want to consider another stand. Otherwise this is a really good deal.

Highly recommended!
This violin stand is great!
I saw someone else using this, and decided to buy one myself. I have used it now over 4 years, and it works wonderfully. I especially like it in group classes and performances as it keeps the violin and bow safe, but easily accessible. It allows me to keep my violin safe without needing the case right beside me.

Good stand but not the best
This stand works perfectly well and is stable. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because, for me, it does not compare with the ease of handling of the Hercules stand that has the automatic grab holder... but the Stagg stand is cheaper so it might be the preferred choice for some people.

Grand violin stand
Easy to set up, Good, safe and secure for any violin. The only thing that could be improved upon is the bow holder which could be a slight bit higher, but I would certainly recommend this product.

Great Stand
Excellent for holding your violin at home or during a gig. Very stable, no chance of toppling over. It is constructed well. Suits all kinds of violins even electric models. Essential piece of gear for me.

Good stand
Everything is ok. It's stable, compact, with cushions and has a child lock, but i wish that the thing that holds my bow could be higher, because it almost is touching the ground.
It's the best i could find and it's really good for the price!

Great violin stand
A puzzlingly deep neck holder (perhaps it permits use of the stand by smaller instruments) is, for me, the only weak point on this otherwise excellent stand. Well padded and finished, and very stable, it will protect your instrument while leaving it available to pick up any time. A great price, too.
I'd recommend this to any violinist.
