J
Takamine TRI-AX Happy owner!
Jonathan516 24.06.2013
Firstly i'm no expert, however i know what i wanted and the Takamine TRI-AX gave it to me!... I wanted a sound hole pickup that i could just bung in the guitar, remove if i wanted to and would allow me to just plug in and play....but....most importantly, gave a natural acoustic guitar sound, and thats what its does. Out of the box with no adjustment its sounds better that i thought it would, natural! Active/passive switch difficult to get to (located on base of unit) but not a major problem. Build quality seems ok. Mine is installed in a Yamaha LL11 and i'm very pleased with it.

K
Best Pickup
Karl4213 28.02.2016
I love this pickup I use it for live performance from small venues to theater and also in the studio it just performs anywhere and it is discreet enough and doesn't get in the way or affect the sound when not in use just playing acoustically.

The pros are great battery life and performance lasts for a long time fantastic looks and of course the tone is amazing,
Cons I haven't found any yet although I did get a little picky setting up the pole pieces to perfection but now its done I never need to touch them.

Outstanding performance for a pickup put one in a high end guitar or fit one to a budget guitar to enhance your investment then if you come to upgrade your instrument take your pick up out and refit to your new guitar

This pick up is just for me an industry standard a very natural sound great looks and build quality I would definitely recommend to others and I wouldn't hesitate to buy more great buy.

A
Good but difficult to access
Anonymous 04.12.2014
A good acoustic pick up, with nice balanced result (even if I can't compare with other product, at least in my recording it works really well). Only issue would be to access the on/off button inside the guitar hole, really difficult... But with volume to zero, the battery seems to be fine over time...

T
great addition to my takamine

enriches the sound enormously when plugged into the cool tube pre-amp as an additional input, and mixed with the piezo pickup. only downside: the soundboard of the guitar becomes microphonic when the volume is turned up, so any slaps or taps in your playing style get overamplified...
