Great trumpet mouthpiece for trombone players

As a trombone player who's recently taken up the trumpet, I found a real lack of information on which mouthpiece to use. I opted for this Yamaha model as I wanted a large sized mouthpiece with a deep cup.

After switching to the 17D4 from a standard 7C sized mouthpiece I am now able to play the lower register (G-G) with excellent clarity. I have found that my upper register has remained largely unchanged and can reach a top E for now. I'm using the mouthpiece with a Yamaha YTR-4335G and I'm able to produce a full tone that projects well.

My personal experience of this mouthpiece has been very positive. It has made the transition to trumpet a lot easier and I'm still using it one year on from purchase.

Mundstück für den tieferen Tonbereich

Ich habe dieses Mundstück für tiefere Lagen eingesetzt und bin sehr zufrieden.Es spricht etwas schwieriger an als das 17C4 und ich komme mit diesem Mundstück nicht so gut in die Höhe,dafür ist der Ton in den tieferen Lagen treffsicherer .

Très bien, mais pas pour moi

Les embouchures, c'est compliqué... sur le papier une cuvette de 17,3 semi profonde et un grain de 3,65 me semblait parfait mais à l'usage, je ne suis pas à l'aise. Je trouve le bord trop fin et pas très confortable, et je n'arrive pas à retrouver la flexibilité que j'ai avec ma Denis Wick par exemple...mais encore une fois c'est très personnel. Qualité de fabrication RAS c'est du Yamaha, très bien fini.
