Impressive for the price
Absolutely beautiful bass!
It is well-made and really comfortable to play! You have a lot of flexibility thanks to the nobs and the active pick-ups.
The only con would be the weight, this is not a lightweight instrument, not at all.
For this price, don't hesitate!
Edit 28/03/2020: I play this bass nearly every day; I simply love it. Plugged into an Orange crush 50 I have all the flexibility I could ever ask for.
No damage, no defect to report. I had to tighten the truss rod a bit this week because the neck picked up a bow.
One warning I have is that because of the battery cavity, I damaged the foam of my stand (Hercules Stands HCGS-302 Electric Guitar/ Bass) because it was pressing right on the edge/screw of the cavity, ripping it overtime.

First bass
Since this is my first bass and I only play at home, I don't have much to say about the sound etc., but I will say what I think:
- knobs do their job and provide great flexibility,
- the finish looks slightly different than the pictures (it has a delicate green glow on the black finish), you should look at the original esp pictures to better understand what it looks like,
- it is a bit heavy, but it feels comfortable,
- lower frets are easily accessible.
I have not encountered any major cons yet.
Overall opinion:

ESP LTD B-204SM STBLKS
Overall a great bass, with a great sound and really comfortable to play. The only issue I've experienced was with the build quality. The tuning pegs were lose, and two of the back string sockets fell when I changed the strings.
But besides that, a great bass for it's value.

The ESP Ltd B-204 offers a lot for the price
The B-204 feels very good to handle. I especially like the thin-U neck shape; it feels very “agile”. The bass may be a little on the heavier side (which I actually like), but has very good neck-body balance and sits nicely. It is very well finished and feels very pleasant to touch; there are no sharp edges or anything. The quality feels very good and I haven’t run into problems.
It has quite nice bunch features, like the 3 band EQ and such. Sure there could be more small things, but for the price it’s very good.
Sound-wise I like it a lot! Of course a matter of taste, but I personally enjoy the tone.
All in all, it’s an excellent bass.

Beginner bass
A good bass to beginners, with a nice quality and has a variety of options (knobs) and some decent pick ups. But you can hear the a little bit of fuzz while playing.
