Great DI box for the cash
I bought one of these for recording bass and guitars in my home studio. I was told if I was looking for quality I shouldn't be paying attention to products at this price tag. However, I experienced differently.
The DI box is built with quality. It got hard metal housing, it is heavy, the switches are hard/stiff which I find really nice, so they won't accidently shifts on contact with external factors, if thats the case. I can't say anything for the battery source because I'm running it on phantom power from day one. The signal is clear. No hums, no noise, no nothing. So far I'm really happy with this product - again, with really low price tag in mind!
Totally recommending it!

BEST price/performance ratio!
Hi customer! The LD Systems LDI 02 is "inspired" by the BSS AR-133 active-DI-Box. The BSS is to expensive for me in my little home studio. So i tried some other products:
- this one
- Palmer PAN 02
- Behringer Ultra-DI
- ART XDirect
The Palmer PAN 02 and the LDI 02 sounds equal, the ART and the Behringer similiar. I prefer the LDI 02, because of the price. The switches are really stable and are noiseless while switching. Furthermore the LDI02 has enough own weight to stay on its position while laying on my desk! The connectors are from good quality as well. In comparison with the ART and Behringer the feel, switches and the manufaction wins at all!
The battery box can be opened and closed without tools. Good for the live-situation without 48V-phantom-power-mixer. A status LED is telling you, whether the power came from the battery (LED is flashing) or from phantom-power (LED on).
Nice sounding (minimal colouration) and in general an uncomplicated product!

Decent Value for Money
Picked up a few after using a couple in a venue a few years back. They're solid little workhorses and the build quality is very reasonable for the money. All four I bought are still functional, although a couple of foot screws have shaken loose over the years.

Stevige, goede DI

Good DI for sporadical use
I spent a lot of time searching for a DI that's not too expensive but delivers OK sound. This is the one.
When I first received them (I bought two simultaneously) there was a defect on one of them. Thomann didn't hesitate to replace it. Since then, no problems to speak off.
I use these DI's for keyboards and on my SPD-SX. Sometimes Bass, Acoustic guitar or even my self-build sub-kick.
I never had an issue with the sound quality for my (non-professional) use.
Pros:
- Cheap alternative to the BSS DI on which the design is based
- Handles many sound sources with a very acceptable quality.
Cons:
- The defective unit that I received puts a bit of hesitation on it related to consistency and reliability

The excellent missing link on stage!
On stage, I use a Line 6 POD HD500X which have two XLR's out (stereo) and two line outs (mono) and I normally use a "the box" PA M 12 ECO MKII (often paired with a PA M 12 ECO MKII) monitoring duties. Here is the deal:
On stage, I will normally have mono out to both my monitors and the PA system/mixer in house. My HD500X patches are in stereo and I don't want to make mono versions of them.
So what I do is feeding the mono signal to the LDI 02, which is splitting the signal unchanged to my monitors and converted to a microphone level balanced signal for the Mixer/PA. Very simple and efficient! One more very common but very usable thing is that the LDI 02 normally is phantom powered by the mixer, but if the phantom power is down, then the battery inside the DI box kicks in automatically.
So the LDI 02 makes my live rig complete and I can always connect wherever I am. This little thing is one of the best and usable buys I've done lately. Strongly recommended!

Great sound and very good price
I had used some when I played a double bass direct to the mixer.
Now, that I play acoustic guitar live, I found the sound to be in a certain way, kind of irregular (not something very noticeable).
So, having a good experience with these, decided to try them on the guitar, and it really gives me what I want which is a kind of tighter sound, without much of a change on the tone.
The packaging is good, and very resistant.
Runs on phantom with no problem, but you can run it on a 9v battery.
I've used on some occasions BBSs and I don't think I hear that much difference just like that.
Very good for the price.

Good quality device with a lot of options
This DI, which has padding and ground lift, is great for the price.
Very reliable and safe. I have never had a problem with them and I use them every week at church.
