I have been using similar stands for some time. The stands I already have access to are less dense on the base however, the added weight has been good for stability and has meant I need fewer sand bags. Make sure that you tighten the rotating knuckle properly...

I love everything about Manfrotto Combi Boom stand. I use it to hold a softbox over the product shots. It is heavy duty and will last a lifetime. If using with monolights which are pretty heavy, I suggest getting a Manfrotto's 4.3 kg counterweight.

Very stable, heavy and solidly built. It can hold any light plus adapter provided you use a weight.
