Good, sturdy, cheap and reliable

After refusing to pay for the outrageously expensive other ball joint snare stands, I decided I'd give this one a try, firstly because it looked almost exactly the same in the pictures and secondly because it was half the price. I have not been disappointed. Like any ball tilter basket, you have to be careful to place the drum so that the weight isn't unbalanced (a common issue with these stands), but other than that standard issue, the stand is remarkable for the money. I have started using other Millenium pro-level hardware and think I will be only buying their hardware in the future. Who needs a brand name for their stands!

Why Pay More?!
Anonymous 19.01.2016
I bought this for gigging at the same time as buying a much more expensive Gibraltar snare stand for my home practice kit and I much prefer this one! For one thing, it's much easier to adjust and has all the same features and is just as stable as the Gibraltar. The build quality is also indistinguishable from the more expensive brand. Why would anyone pay more? Spend your hard-earned cash on the best drums you can buy and save money on your stands, that's what I did and I thoroughly recommend you do the same!

Standard stand
Anonymous 31.01.2015
A normal snare stand, the support can tighten for smaller snares, but not so much for example to hold a 12 inches realfeel pad (although if you tigthen it as much as possible you can kind of get it stuck in it, and it works, unsure what happens with a 12 inch snare or anything of the sort).

The tripod on top has a sphere, as junction, to move it, so seems to be quite easy to set up and more comfortable than most stands, that makes it very quick to use.

Only drawback, it is unexpectedly heavy.
Very good overall in all the other aspects.

Good quality compared to the price. Unfortunately, due to the weight transferred to the back, it's not very stable. The ends of the legs are made of soft plastic or very hard rubber - they slide on a slippery surface instead of being stable as in the case of rubber.

I dont mind t-bone, millenium, behringer and other "cheap" brand products, there are some really great gems there. Of course, there are some really cheap and not quality products, BUT
the Millenium PRO series stuff is great, i have used/owned a pedal, seat, cymbal stands and this snare stand, and they all are great products. It is a great quality product and really recommend, i have nothing bad to say about this stand!

I
Sturdy and functional
Ivan7165 05.10.2015
I've decided to buy this Millenium SS-801X Pro Series Snare after being disappointed with the standard stand that came with my MILLENIUM MX700 "STAGE 1" PRO SET.
I've got tired of the flimsy and cheap quality stand that couldn't support my 14" snare very well and tended to tilt to one side time after time.
Fortunately this stand proved to be a complete opposite - it is very sturdy and well made and does a great job of supporting the snare drum. The clamps provide the tight hold of the snare and omni ball system lets you configure the angle of the snare anyway you wish. Legs of the stand aren't spread very wide which leaves more room for your feet and less problems when fitting the snare between bass drum pedal and hi-hat stand.
Very good quality for the price!

Good quality for little money
MbM90 19.02.2014
Like all drum hardware products from the Millenium Pro series this snare stand also has a very good price-performance ratio.

It's made out of solid material that is yet delicately manufactured as usual with thomann products and has a nice design (even if no one will see the snare stand anyway) and operates flawlessly. Like other Millennium Pro products the stand doesn't have to hide behind much more expensive competitive products of the "big" manufacturers, since features like the low snare basket, the omni ball system and the memory clamps aren't really common in this price range.

Conclusion: A brilliant article for little money that masters even the hardships of onstage us with ease.

Nothing negotive

I bought this snare stand for using with 8 inch pad. When Parcel came, I opened it and tried to adjust the stand for pad, I was disappointed, because adjusting nut was twisted tied, but basket was still too wide for 8 inch pad. I solved this problem by turning adjusting nut from up to the bottom. Now it is able to be mounted small snares and pads.

Never stays 100% in place

Even after setting it up as tight as possible, you can still move the basket if you lightly press your snare.
If it is not as tight as possible, the basket can move after a few heavy hits on your snare.
