Great for the money and sounds amazing
Anonymous 22.06.2016
This is the second time i have purchased this cable because it is fantastic.

I have recently bought a 100 meter loom of the stuff and it is fantastic. It sounds great and feels good in the hands and doesn't kink up.

I believe you can get this in a Highflex finish as well which i have tried and this is brilliant too. Tonally i can't tell a difference between the two, just a slight difference in the feel when you coil them!

The stage cable is durable and well built and can suit loads of applications. I have used mine in the studio on several projects using a variety of dynamic and condensor microphones. I have also used these cables for a whole pa with dual eqs, a sub, two QSC 12 speakers and several microphones for vocals and drums and it worked a charm.

This stuff is easy to coil and doesn't kink up too badly when your band mates try to help you pack away and do it wrong. I think the Highflex stuff may be a bit better but there is a slight price difference, if you are on a budget then this stuff is great!

I believe it is on par with the Van damme stuff which is over twice the price of this cable.

Combine this with Neutrik gold plated ends. I know these are some of the most expensive ends you can buy but its rare the actual ends break! When your cables get worn out you can just cut the ends off and re-solder them onto some new cable. This works out a lot cheaper in the long run.

Pros:
Good sound
Very affordable
Will teach you soldering skills
Look great in black
On par with the Van Damme stuff

Cons:
Highflex may be better feel wise and may be more durable but is more epxnsive

If this is your first time making cables then get this stuff!
Its great.

Soft, very easy to roll, soldered with neutrik ends and they're my favourite cables.

Too flexible...
donmic 01.04.2022
Unfortunately I made a mistake buying this cable as it is too flexible/soft to coil quickly... If you are looking for a cable to use on stage - look for SC-Source. Both of these cables are highflex, but the difference is hugely noteacible.

Great Professional Grade Cable
Anonymous 02.01.2017
This cable more than exceeded my expectations.

In my professional capacity I would normally only use Van Damme cable, but as this was a side project for a church which needs less than a whole drum of cable I decided to try this product from Sommer.

The cable is easy to work with both at the manufacturing stage and the use stage. It coils really nicely and seems to be holding up well after the first year of use.

The finish is slightly more of a soft rubber than I'd usually expect from mic cable, but it seems to be holding up well, doesn't seem to be collecting too much dust and we've not had any failures yet.

The finish on this cable might make it slightly less appropriate if your use involves heavy duty use, or the risk of having to lay the cables in high traffic areas.

All round a great cable for light use, where reliability is particularly important.

Flexible, soft, easy to solder
Nahle 08.01.2020
Use this for stage mics and di box, for signal we use other thinner cables, but this sommer cable is great for stage use.

Pros:
Flexible
Soft
easy to roll, (just make sure you roll it properly)

Cons,
The material is slightly easy to get dirty, remember to clean your cables after a gig in the bar/clubs or outdoor events.

Would totally buy more

Cable for balanced applications
Bluenfunky 06.05.2022
This seems very good value cable. The cores are thinner than others but adequate. The cable is very pliable with a thick sheave so perfect for stage use. Using mine for TSR Jack keyboard and XLR mic leads.

Nicest mic cable i've used
97mwill 05.04.2017
Bought 100m worth to make some custom length mic cables, after deciding it was cheaper to make my own than buy pre-made ones.
This Sommer cable is very flexible and soft to touch making it excellent for live applications such as mine where cables are being uncoiled and recoiled all the time.
The cable was very easy to strip and solder with, with the plastic coatings not being affected by the high soldering iron temperatures. Plastic coatings on cheaper cables tend to shrivel up with the heat.
I would highly recommend this cable to anyone looking to make their own mic cable and i will certainly be purchasing some more in the future once my 100m has been used up.

Great cable for inside rack patching
the0xydo 10.09.2019
I've bougth this cable to patch my front panel with XLR sockets to my amps. Cable works and is good enough for this type of aplication. I think for stage i would choose more thicker cable. It did solder nicely.
