The classic PAF humbucker sound with an extra portion of mids and trebles: we present to you the PAF Pro. For guitarists who don't want a high-gain screamer, but would like their classic sound to be a little hotter and more powerful. A particularly popular combination: a PAF (143059) on the neck and a PAF Pro on the bridge. That way, the volume balance between neck and bridge pickups is preserved. A quick reminder: since the strings vibrate more vigorously closer to the middle of the string, the neck pickup (with the same configuration) is always a little louder.

Amazing pickup!!!

I put it in my ibanez rg350dxz in neck position. It sounds very good when clean, and just incredibly amazing with distortion!!! You can play all - from blues to 80's shred - anything sounds awesome with this pickup.

Le micro à tout faire n'existe pas, et ce PAF PRO fera le bonheur des rockeurs près du chevalet comme du manche. Pour le Jazz, c'est différent, il s'exprime bien dans les medium et m'a un peu déçu pour les aiguës en son clair; pour celà on gagnerait à le splitter, et je vais peut-être le faire. Il favorise assez les harmoniques sur du haut gain au préampli. Couplé avec un PAF JOE le rendu du son en position parallèle est excellent, très musical, plutôt agréable et permet tous les traitements par pédale d'effet. Il réagit abondamment aux variations d'attaque, les réglages du potard de volume ne sont pas innocents; à ce titre je lui donnerais le surnom de "PAF PROFESSOR".

Das alteProblem:
PAF- Pickups kombiniert mit Mahagoni-Gitarren klingen am Hals fett-mittig mit Bass-Matsch Risiko. Satt singende Mitten am Steg aber insgesamt eher wenig Brillanz.
Gegenmittel?
ein PAF-Typ , der nach oben etwas heller+ offener ist, ruhig mit etwas mehr Output, aber noch im klar definierten und gemäßigten Bereich und nicht jegliche Dynamik platt bügelnd oder mit Distortion-Säge.
Der DP151 Paf Pro ist in der Bridgeposition da eine gute Wahl, klanglich in etwa zwischen Duncans 59/Custom Hybrid (offener) und Duncans SH5 (fetter). In der Neckposition muss er dann aber doch ziemlich tief reingeschraubt werden, um den Bass im Zaum zu halten. Schade dass es den Paf Pro nicht für den Neck in einer etwas abgespeckten Version gibt. Er klingt dort aber immer noch offener und klarer als ein Standard-PAF. Mit 2 PAF Pros in beiden Positionen merkt man schon die klangliche Ähnlichkeit. Fazit:
Als Classic Rock Bridge Pickup sehr empfehlenswert. Für die Neckposition geht die Suche weiter...

Desde el año 92 que tengo como guitarra principal una fender stratocaster. A los 2 o 3 años cambie ambas singles agudas y graves por dos PAF PRO (Di marzio DP151 en ambos lados)
El cambio fue por necesidad y porque no tenía recursos para comprar otra guitarra, Tocaba en una banda en donde el sonido debía ser un poco más duro(no heavy, simplemente un rock alternativo con bastante garra) y la strato convencional no llegaba a darlo.
Pasaron los años y hoy considero que tengo un sonido propio. Es como tocar con un híbrido entre gibson y fender. Tiene el twang de la fender pero cierta redondez propios de los PAF PRO. Para mi no existe mejor combinación.

Pro: SI buscas versatilidad, con esta pastilla no fallas. En una banda de versiones que toco puedo sonar bien tanto tocando un tema de Guns and Roses como de Dire Straits.

Contra: Esto es evidente. Toda la versatilidad que da, también quita si solo quieres abordar un solo género o estilo. Por ejemplo, si solo quisiera tocar blues pues estas seguramente no serían mi primera opción (al menos en una strato)

Cada cual tiene que hacer su camino. Para mi no existen pastillas mejores.
