Not worth the extra cash

Bought this to use with Telecaster primally to smooth out sound having used a MXR Dyna Comp in the past.

Pros: Provides the tried and trusted Dyna Comp effect for guitar; subtle yet effective. Somewhat quieter than standard version.

Cons: Considerably more expensive than the standard version. Poor MXR Quality Control (Base plate came scratched with one screw loose, battery connector loose, uncovered and rattling, glue strings left over electronics)

In Summary. Sounds as expected. A bit quieter then standard version. Disappointing attention to finish and quality control by MXR.

Buy the standard one unless you are a collector. Not worth the extra cash for practical purposes.

I was owner of the classic cheap MXR Dyna Comp and not the Script, every time I turned it on I felt that it lacked a special color, I listened to it on youtube or in the guitar sounds of artists who had it, i sell the classic and now i have the custom shop I couldn't believe there was a small but significant difference which was what I wanted! i dont know maybe cuz is equipped with the rare CA3080 ?who knows... plus im getting the same compression like the old transmitter vega t26

Le compresseur des 70's

Ultra simple d'utilisation : Output pour le volume général et Sensitivity pour le taux de compression.
En le déballant, on sait que c'est de la qualité (en même temps MXR...), très belle peinture rouge foncé, mais restons-en là et direction le son !

Il est très silencieux, surprenant, même quand on le pousse à fond, comparé à d'autres modèles que j'ai pu tester comme le Boss CS3 ou le MXR SuperComp. La compression se fait tout en douceur, tout en conservant cet effet de "pompage" qu'on entend dans les enregistrements des 70's.
En fan du son de David Gilmour, cette pédale nous plonge dans ses sons époque Animals ou The Wall avec des réglages type Output à 15h et Sensitivity à 11h. Couplé à un driver type Boss BD2 ou une Big Muff Triangle, on s'y croitait presque !

A noter que la course du potard de Output semble logarithmique tant le volume est écrasé avant 12.00, sûrement pour réguler le volume général si ce compresseur est placé en fin de chaîne avant d'attaquer l'ampli dans une dynamique toute domestiquée. Utilisé en première pédale dans la chaîne, ne pas hésiter à monter l'output.

Sur Strat ou Tele, vraiment un régal ! Merci MXR pour cette reissue de si bonne qualité et bravo à Thomann pour leur sérieux habituel !

Etwas für Nostalgiker

Ich konnte mit dem Klang dieses Kompressors leider nicht viel anfangen. Zu sehr wird mir der Gitarrenattack gekappt. Vielleicht ist das Gerät etwas für Ambient oder Slide. Ich stehe auf dynamische Sounds, der Kompressor soll mir mehr Fülle und Sustain verschaffen, ein besseres Gefühl "unter den Fingern". Das hat für mich hier nicht geklappt.
Wenn sich jemand in der Beschreibung wiederfindet, probiere er/sie mal den Diamond Compressor. Der komprimiert auch vehement, wenn man denn will, aber der Anschlag bleibt stets halbwegs natürlich, der Ton bekommt einen "glockigen" Charakter.
