Good bow for the price

Perhaps even better than the one coming with the psaltery. This bow is less curved than the standard one; when put into tension, it curves very much, giving a strong tension to the hair, which in turn makes easier fast passages with the instrument.

Good bow for strange instruments

I play a hommel, or vlier as we say here in these parts. Normal violin bows do not work for this traditional instrument. Usually too long or too ornate.
This bow is an excellent choice. It handles well with the softer pieces and does not shy away when the intensity mounts. The design is modest & appropriate for my traditional folk instrument. Great in live and recording settings.
Only con, I had to shave off the point so it would fit in my bow case. Other than that, no worries.

Guter Bogen für Schlüsselfidel

Ich habe diesen Psalterbogen gekauft, um Schlüsselfidel/Nyckelharpa damit zu spielen. Dafür kann ich ihn sehr empfehlen!
Er ist leicht zu handhaben, und er macht, was er soll. Die Ansprache ist gut. Ich dachte zuerst, dass er mit 36 cm Spiellänge zu kurz für die Nyckelharpa ist, stellte dann aber fest, dass mir die Länge sehr angenehm ist und ich dasselbe spielen kann wie mit einem 4 cm längeren Bogen.

Der Klang ist gut. Es gibt Bögen, mit denen ich einen etwas besseren Klang erzeugen kann, bei denen ich aber die Handhabung als anstrengender und ungenauer empfinde.
Bei dem Preis werde ich mich in ein paar Monaten fragen, ob ich den Bogen neu behaaren lasse oder mir stattdessen einen neuen Bogen zulege!
Übrigens: Er wiegt 39 g
