A great cabinet for a great amp

I was looking for a vintage style cabinet and the salt 'n' pepper grill cloth of the Marshall 1960AHW is exactly what I need.
I play this cabinet with the JTM45 reissue (30 watt) and the 1987x (50 watt). These are loud amps, and the 4x10 cabinet sometimes could be hard to handle. Its Celestion speakers, made in England, sound great. But, I switched to two Scumback M75 to have a lower volume.
Here you can find how I modify the cabinet:

It's important to close the other holes to mantain the "punch" of the closed cabinet.
Obiouvsly I still have the original Celestion spearkers to play on big stages and because they have a nice vintage tone.

La Cassa

la migliore cassa mai usata, il suono è quello caldo e definito, molto stile '70.... imparagonabile. Monta gli storici coni G12H30 che SUONANO. Ho acquistato anche la 1960BHW e quando le uso insieme hanno una botta sonora da paura.
Certo che il costo non è indifferente, ma questa è la cassa definitiva.
Consigliatissima.

Awesome guitar cab!

Exactly that aggressive bite in the mids that I was looking for, and with the english made G12H-30’s resonance frequency of 55Hz you really feel it in your guts when you play loud. 100% birch plywood. The only thing I miss is a 4 ohm connection on the back. Only 16 ohm on this cab, and sadly my JMP 2203 from ‘79 only have 4 and 8 ohm outputs. My solution is to buy the 1960BHW as well. Wasn’t planning to do that when I ordered my 1960AHW, but it just sounds so good that I thought to myself, what the heck… :-)

Compared this cabinet with the Dave Mustaine Signature Cab loaded wit Celestion V30s.
AHW is clearly the winner for me!
Playing a Friedman BE100 through it and only for a few days.
The speakers in the AHW are not even broke in.
Wondering how will they sound after a couple of weeks .;-)
Speakers usually do need a couple of hours(days)to sound as they were intended to.
This fact gives me the right to declare the Marshall MR1960AHW as THE CABINET for life!
Ps .this cab is really is a beauty !
