Excellent practise tool & travel companion

Ended up choosing this model after weighing in the price, size, features and compatibility with 3rd party software vendors. Have not had to regret the decision!

The physical layout enables practising sax fingerings and test out tunes easily, quietly and fast. Since the Aerophone is a MIDI device, you can use it with various music production software and thus tweak the sounds to your liking. The included soundbank is suitable mostly for practise sessions, but it fits the bill for quick tryout sessions on the spot. I haven't used the internal speaker much, since the output is really flat and narrow, but it's a nice addition to have as well if you need to quickly demo a tune for someone else and don't have an external speaker to connect to.

Pro's:
- small and lightweight
- follows standard sax keying
- breath control pretty linear
- enables long practise sessions anytime, anywhere
- USB MIDI output

Con's:
- breath and bite control not exactly analogous to a real sax
- some key presses not always registered
- a bit plasticky

Overall extremely happy going for this model!

Best electronic saxophone I ever bought

The quality of the instrument is very good, it plays wonderful. I plug it into my MacBook Pro and I record songs on Logic Pro X with ease. It is a wonderful instrument and I recommend it to anyone who wants to write and record songs on a computer (because it is also a MIDI) or just simply play and have fun.

A pretty average instrument, but a great Midi-controller

If you want to use this as a stand alone electric wind instrument; look at the more expensive models.

The sounds are "ok" for practice and play, but don't hold up in any professional capacity.

If, however you use it as a breath controller for a DAW with good breath controllable instruments / VSTi... then suddenly you have something that sounds great, and is a lot more expressive than just a normal keyboard.

I played saxophone when i was younger, and i wanted something to bring back the experience of a wind instrument in my music production. The Aerophone Go works great as something to just play with when I'm traveling and just want to practice or just jam. But when i hook it up to my DAW and match it with something like the SWAM instruments or other great plugins, then suddenly i can get really good sounding woodwind or brass in my tracks, with more natural breath feel. I LOVE IT!

Bien pour s’entraîner en silence !

Je possède un sax alto Yam et un magnifique Selmer vintage argenté dont le son est superbe.
Cependant quand je dois apprendre un morceau et que je répète les passages... c'est un peu usant pour mon entourage proche ! Alors j'ai commencé à m'intéresser à cet instrument en piochant les infos sur le web. Un saxophoniste qui fait pas mal de déplacements me l'a conseillé.
Disons tout de suite qu'il faut le voir comme un complément à un vrai sax pour s’entraîner en silence (ou à faible niveau).
Je l'utilise avec mon smartphone connecté en Bluetooth Audio et mes applications habituelles (Musescore, IRealPro, Accordeur TE en métronome...). L'intérêt, c'est que le son des applis est renvoyé à l'Aérophone - sur son Haut-Parleur interne ou mieux sur votre casque audio si vous le connecter à l'Aérophone, ainsi tout se fait en silence pour votre entourage. Vous pouvez jouer ainsi à n'importe quelle heure du jour ou de la nuit !
Le doigté est celui d'un sax, à ceci près que ce sont des boutons au lieu des touches. Les mains sont plus rapprochées que sur mon alto mais c'est transparent.
Le bec est simplifié, j'utilise la sensibilité H1 pour l'instant (ça soulage les lèvres). Si vous utilisez le mode "Bite" pour le bend, il faut réduire la sensibilité avec l'appli go+.
Si on veut jouer avec le son il faut le connecter à une petite enceinte, le haut-parleur intégré étant minimal...
Pour mon usage, il est parfait !
Comme le service Thomann d'ailleurs, le colis arrivant dans un double emballage !!!
Additif : Ça fonctionne aussi avec mon PC portable équipé de BlueTooth et mes applications PC : Musescore, Transcribe et BandInABox !
