Fender Player Series Jaguar PF 3TS

got this guitar last week, it's beautiful to look at and the tone is fantastic. the ability to split the bridge pickup and use varying combos gives it a good range of tones to play around with. when it arrived there were two main issues i found with it. the fret ends are not rounded off particularly well, giving a sharp edge and there was (and still sometimes is) a bit of buzz coming from the body, not the neck. I had the neck straightened and bridge adjusted by a luthier who also noticed the body buzz. tightened a lot of screws and can't say I've noticed it as much since, but for the money I'd expect slightly better finishing/ build quality. I'll keep it and persevere (at extra cost) as it sounds sweet and is really nice to pay. Overall I'd recommend it but also budget for a good once over/ fret end file/ setup from a luthier also to iron out the finishing issues you might also get with the player series. can't fault thomann, as usual, good price, excellent communication and trackable deliveries with options to alter. andy

I bought the Jaguar Player Series to fill a gap in my guitar arsenal as my other guitars are all more or less from the Gibson side of the fence. I was looking for a guitar with a brighter, more 60s/indie vibe.
To sum up, this guitar is everything I was looking for and a bit more. Turns out that the bridge humbucker can both deliver quite aggressive rock tone on its on and, when coil split, combines with the single coil in the neck position to deliver a very nice, jangly clean sound.
The neck pickup on its own is right on target for that classic Jaguar chime as well.
The build quality is good and the neck plays very well after some adjustment of the truss rod and the bridge height.
The only downside I can think of is the weight of the guitar. This is probably my heaviest guitar, outweighing both my (weight relieved) Les Paul and my SG. However, that is a minor nibble and overall this guitar met or exceeded my expectations and satisfied my craving for that Jag-tone.
And, of course, it looks gorgeous :)

Ich habe mir die Fender Jaguar Gitarre als "andere" Live-Gitarre besorgt. Die letzten Jahre spielte ich eine Epiphone Dot Studio, Genretechnisch irgendwo zwischen Grunge, Psychedelic, Prog und Stoner. Meine SSS Strat hatte ich vor 1,5 Jahren verkauft - habe dann aber irgendwann doch die Option des Single-Coil-spielens vermisst.

Ich freute mich sehr, dass die Gitarre von Thomann gewohnt schnell geliefert worden ist - beim auspacken dachte ich mir als erstes: "Wow, die sieht wirklich schön aus." Dann ist mir aber relativ schnell die recht "billig" anmutente Brücke aufgefallen. Die kleinen Schräubchen um die Saitenreiter (der Mini-Inbus wird dazu geliefert) einzustellen klapperten deutlich hörbar beim trockenen anspielen bzw. es rasselte förmlich aus allen Ecken und Kanten. Nach einiger Rumprobiererei und Einstellerei hatte sich das Problem aber weitgehend gelöst. Dennoch scheint Fender bei der Brücke an Qualität gespart zu haben, weshalb ich überlege den nächsten volleren Studentengeldbeutel für eine hochwertigere Brücke in die Hand zu nehmen.

Nach der Einstellerei und Rumprobiererei bin ich allerdings sehr zufrieden, die Tonabnehmer tun das was sie tun sollen, der Humbucker drückt wahnsinnig und klingt auch im Splitmodus ansprechend für präsente Funk-Klänge. Der Coil am Hals klingt sehr warm, verzerrt wohl für meine Zwecke eher ungeeignet aber durchaus spannend. Sofern man keinen modernen Metal macht ist die Gitarre wärmstens aufgrund ihrer vielseitigkeit zu empfehlen.
