Absolutely amazing

"The Chorus" has always been a bit of a weird sound for me. I never really got the point since it always seems to be overwhelmed by other effects or instruments and therefore a bit redundant. After messing around a bit on some Amp sims with my guitar, I decided to get the M83 for my bass after reading some online reviews about Choruses. Oh boy, was I wrong before.

This thing is a beast and sounds absolutely amazing! The build is great, the controls are clear and very intuitive and the fact it has a built-in Flanger is just a sweet little extra. Every button does just what it says on the label. No nonsense and very beginner friendly. Just leave the EQ bits at 12 o'clock if you don't want them to do anything and start messing with the other controls to your liking. First time I set the Rate all the way up I thought I broke my pedal since the LED started going crazy, until I realized the LED syncs with the Rate tempo which is pretty cool.

I have heard and read there's some shortcomings when it comes to the X-over function but I can't honestly comment on that since I haven't messed around with it enough.

In short: looking for a simple to control, amazing sounding and well built Bass Chorus? Get the M 83!

Great chorus ! Like the crossover button wich adds youre dry signal to the sound.

The flanger addition is nice, but not using it much.

I don't know if I ever tried a better sounding chorus pedal on bass. I think it can eat some boutique pedals for breakfast! Bass and treble controls are great and sure are a better feature than the mix knob or something similar. It goes from subtle chorus to vibe and beyond. So, chorus is great, but flanger? IT is magnificent, a total mad mans creation! The moment I hit that button I instantly started to play 46&2 over and over, enjoying it more and more. Housing and knobs are great but I really think that MXR should get toggle switches in place of that white buttons and a more solid foot switch, something more soft and better quality like TC ones.

been looking for a decent bass flanger for years that doesn't rip the tone of the bass to shreds since my old boss bf-2b packed in. this does the job nicely. well made, robust & versatile. nice chorus effects on it too but i haven't really gone down that road too far. crackin' little pedal if your looking for a sweet bass flanger.
