7. Capos

A capo is a cunningly simple device for changing the pitch of a guitar (or bass) without the need for retuning particularly useful when transposing a song to suit the voice while still using ‘ringy’ open chords. Usually, it takes the form of a rubber-covered metal bar placed across the strings and held in place by a metal clamp or a strip of elastic.

There's not really a lot to know about the capo, but it's always worth remembering to check that your chosen model will actually fit your guitar. A capo designed for a Fender Stratocaster may not always fit a classical acoustic guitar and vice versa.
