Important if you don't read the description: these sticks are non-lacquered, i.e. raw

If you are like me, you wouldn't read the description before ordering, and will be surprised by the finishing (surface) of the stick. It is not lacquered, meaning the surface is more gritty. I would anticipate that it would provide much better grip when playing, BUT might as well cause a bit of callus on your palms if you're not careful.
Thomann, folks, perhaps it's worth specifying "Raw" in the product title? :)

Exceptional, well balanced sticks

Nice 5A sticks made out of solid tick wood. They have a solid feel and generally heavier than 5As from other brands. The "natural" finish also makes for a nice grip.

I mostly use them to practice. Generally I play with heavier sticks, but I like to switch sizes when playing on a practice pad.

Great quality, outstanding balance, stable & firm grips

Freshly or played, these are a pleasure to grab when I am about to express myself behind the kit.
When it comes down to picking the right stick to your style of playing,
this model offers you great balance between the stability and the mobility, it applies to each of these pairs I've owned.
Because ProMark carefully picks sticks by weight and shape of the wood,
these are the factors that are primordial in creating your unique sound and type of playing, and to me, they feel right in the hands as the raw finish enhances my fulcrum grip.
They are one of few type of sticks on the market that make me feel more connected to the sound that comes out of a tom or cymbal, yes it's crazy!

Having a pair of these is essential in live situations to me, they will not deceive and the feel is such a comfort as I know I won't slip a stick out of hand during certain intense drum parts.

I greatly recommend this brand and more specifically, this stick model.
I had played for over 20 years, but switched to ProMark for over a year or two now and I will not change my mind:
The TXR5AW 5A or 5B models have enhanced my playing and helped my grip technique to the best I know as of today, hands down!
Who knows what more they will offer me in the future? :)

This natural finish gives it a nice feeling. Also a slightly better grip when hands get sweaty.
