Bijna perfect, ventilator is luid!

De USB hub doet wat ie moet doen. Simpel aan te sluiten en werkt direct. Alleen de hub heeft een ingebouwde ventilator, die aangaat wanneer je intensief gebruik maakt van de aansluitingen.

Deze fan is luid, en kan je niet handmatig uitzetten, dus onhandig voor in een opname studio! Na een nachtje afkoelen staan ze weer uit als je hem aandoet. Online een thread over gevonden: helemaal prima!

Super handig als je van de kabelsoep af wilt

Ik heb hem nu meer dan een maand en het is voor mij een van de beste investeringen die ik dit jaar hebt gedaan. Alles via 1 kabel aan te sluiten op mijn laptop en mijn bureau blijft netjes en georganiseerd wat betreft de computerkabels. Op dit moment heb ik 8 slots in gebruik, 2 harde schijven, 1 toetsenbord en de rest midi apparatuur en mijn printer. Je hoeft ze niet numerieke aan te sluiten dat kan gewoon willekeurig.

The best Hub Ever

I am using the Swissonic USB Hub 1916 since 2 months for my Studio equipment, I am connecting the following:
Komplete Kontrol S88
Maschine Jam
Maschine MK 3
2 X 5 TB Drives
Midi Hub
Korg Wavestate
Akai 25
Launch Control
Launch Pad X
AKAI MIDI Mix
Behringer Xenyx X1622USB
Focusrite 8i6
and
12.9 iPAD
iPhone

and it is working amazingly well with no hustle. it is so powerful with its 198 watts of power, all equipment are working seamlessly.

It is one of my best investments.

The only one issue I faced is that it has no comprehensive user manual, only one brief datasheet. and when I had some questions I've sent an email to the support team and I did not get any reply. Also there is no reference anywhere on the internet nor a website.

However, the product is amazing and working perfectly well, and I am thinking of buying another one as a backup, as all my studio equipment are depending on that single source of data so I need a backup.

Unfortunately unstable with an Macbook Pro M1 13" (2020)

I was looking for a 19" solution for all my usb needs as there were too many hubs and docks flying around, making a spaghetti monster of cables.

However, the unit looks great and solid, but the functionality is unfortunately not stable in my case. The LEDS don't light up on all the hardware. Mostly only harddrives. Some of my hard drives are connecting/disconnecting frequently which doesn't happen directly connected or other hub/docks.

Next to that, I'm forced to connect this unit to a USB-C dock, as I only have 2 ports (Thunderbolt 4) on my Macbook Pro M1. 1 port needs to be dedicated for my Thunderbolt audio interface and the other... well you guessed it; for the USB-C dock and this Swissonic Hub. The Swissonic hub is connected to the USB-C dock, but even if I connect it directly I experience these errors with the dock. It seems more that my Macbook Pro is struggling with all these connections and docks/hubs.

Probably sell the unit 2ndhand when the time arrives, but it doesn't seem like a faulty unit.
