DBX made a little gem!
This DBX 266 XS compressor is to be highly recommended. The quality of sound it (re)produces, and the flexibility of the controls are so much better than cheaper units.
On other units I have used, "Release" can be grabby and compression ratios way to harsh even for the smallest adjustment to the controls (I owned a Behringrer previously). This unit is smooth and easily adjustable ensuring that you neither blast your desk nor kill the sound.
Simple and intuitive to use I had it out of the box, installed in my flight was, hooked up and operating within 20 minutes of the courier dropping it off. It really is that easy.
I am absolutely delighted and feel this unit represents great value for money.
I have marked it 5*s on everything as it does everything it says it will in an outstanding way.

The compressor is good, does exactly what is necessary for one compressor gate, for dual microphones or just one, it does the job

Superb
Don't be fooled by the price. This is a great compressor. Doesn't color at all. So if you are looking for a "warm" sound, this is not for you

Great dbx sound
Awesome 1u compressor with a classic dbx OverEasy sound. Nice compression that's powerful without being too "in your face". I've always loved the dbx compressors, be it the 160A or the previous model the 266 XL (which I have a rack of as well), and I just love the natural sound of the dbx compression whether on vocals or Kick/Bass. It has a handy gate as well. I wouldn't mix a gig without a dbx comp.

How can it be possible to produce a piece of kit like this for such a small price? I have it in the effects loop on my Blackstar HT Stage 60 MKII combo and on high gain the gate works superb, and the compression gives excellent clarity and sustain. The service from Thomann was excellen as always. Highly recommended, thank you.

Inexpensive, great features, and very quiet
Almost right out of the box this gear did exactly what we needed. Very easy set up and just some tweaking and we haven't touched since. Couldn't be more pleased with price & performance.

If you have knowledge this baby can make everything sound so much better, for budget its amazing!
