Heavy, specific, well crafted

I am giving this four points because I think it is a beautifully crafted mouthpiece. However, the rim does not fit me personally, being too rounded, but of course this is a very personal matter and everyone will have different needs and preferences in this compartment. Also, it really is a heavy mouthpiece and has a specific sound. I guess it is not usually used in jazz or "lighter music". The sound is certainly massive, but speaks better, at least for me, in the low and middle register, though when one does manage the high notes, they are unusual and full of colour. I would say that this mouthpiece is special exactly in this "colour". I have tried two other heavy Denis Wick pieces, and they more or less fit into the above, but this, the 1 1/4C is my favourite for its unusual colour, I would almost say a kind of purple.

Embouchure très confortable

Une embouchure infiniment plus confortable que les Bach correspondantes, un bord intérieur arrondi qui ne blesse pas et laisse une impression de douceur même lors de longues et difficiles séances avec la trompette.

Cette embouchure est un peu lus large que la 1 1/4 c Bach, mais on y gagne en qualité de timbre, un son plein, bien rond, un peu plus sombre, il faut travailler vraiment sur la colonne d'air, et tout est optimum, résistance et registre aigu facilités par la conception des bords.

Magnifique en tous points, à acheter en pleine confiance. Un article vraiment bon marché pour cette qualité et le rendu. Un vrai plaisir de jouer la trompette , tant le confort et la sûreté des attaques sont sensationnels.

Klanglich und optisch tolles Mundstück

Was den Sound und die Leichtigkeit im oberen Register angeht, habe ich bisher nix auf mein Tilz MB1 kommen lassen. Das Denis Wick 4282 Ultra 1 1/4C kommt da aber fast ran und hat dazu den Vorteil, dass es -jedenfalls bei mir- auch in der Tiefe leichter anspricht und ich die Töne sauberer treffe. Super Gefühl an der Lippe und prima Sound im Piano und im Forte. Direkte Ansprache im Legato. Dazu kommt noch die tolle Optik in Gold (sieht einem Yamaha Mundstück der GP-Serie sehr ähnlich, allerdings voll vergoldet). Alles in allem ein super Mundstück.

Leichte Ansprache und sehr gute Verarbeitung. Aber leider zu wenig Sound. Das Original -also Monette Prana B2S3-klingt ab der mittleren Oktave offener und strahlt ingesamt leichter. In der Ansprache ist das Dennis Wick sehr präzise und auch leicht. Vielleicht braucht das Ultra auch eine extrem schwere Trompete, denn es ist deutchlich schwerer als ein STC1 Monette Mundstück.
