Luna Guitars Tattoo Short Scale Bass

First of all the neck feels good. Frets were good even after shipping.
It obviously requires a proper setup first. The strings are D'Addario strings so they are great,

For a Mahogany body I was expecting something much heavier but it is very light.

I love the design. I first tought the tattoo art would be painted but it is actually laser-etched so it certainly wont rub off. The moon style pearl inlays are also very cool.

Pickup sounds suprisingly good. sort of vintage p style
As always opened it up and took a good look at the electrics.
It has mini pots. vol/tone. Decent soldering job. Nothing to go wrong there since its very simple
Despite the size of the guard on the back the routing is just so the parts fit.

The only con really is the tuners. Change those.
I would also actually use even lighter set. It has 45-100 set and what I would put on it is the Daddario EXL220S wich is 040-060-075-095.
Just because I still think the 100 is a bit thick for the short scale.
I might also change the pickup in the future for something that suits my taste more.

If you are just starting to play bass or want to playt something more complex then this is the right one for you.

I bought it last October for a student of mine. For ? 212 this bass as a great value.

The build quality of the Luna Tatoo is very good for this price range, i liked the natural feel of the wood, the neck is also very fast and smooth. The drawing in the bass body is pretty well made, the Luna Tattoo was for a female student of mine but i had no problem in playing with it live if i had to, it is simply a matter of taste. Being a short scale bass this is ideal for students, as it is much easier to play, but also more advanced player will like it and play it for sure.

The sound is very round and punchy, i was very impressed with the sound of the Luna Tattoo when i plugged it, both in the amp and my recording interface at home.

I didn't knew this brand but i am now considering to buy and advice it to anyone. I am very pleased and student is very pleased with it too.
So my final words is... I recomment it!
