Looks little, it is little, but it makes a lot of difference. Thought it would look better, much more "stained" than what photos show, therefore the 4 stars on finish, but sounds great, does his job perfectly, and i just love to use it on the hihat. Even if you play with a "low budget" hihat, it will make a big difference in the sound, specially the "chick" sound.

for me, it turned out to be a bit loud and sharp in sound. in General, not bad. I would have purchased soft ching ring.

Nice as a lightweight, flexible handheld tambourine

Does a decent DCRING although skeptics might describe it as somewhat closer to DTSJING, either way a nice sound. Don't use hi-hat but use this only handheld, I'm thinking of getting a strap so I can this fix to my hand around the wrist area.

I also have a couple more of those tambourines from Meinl of the same nature but diffferent materials, nice as well and cool to have a pair that is not the same, somewhat organic.

Ich spiele als Drummer in einer Funk/Jazz Band und nutze den Dry Ching Ring für manche Songs auf dem Hihat, um einen Tambourin Sound zu erzeugen. Ich finde das klingt ziemlich gut, das Hihat wird dadurch wesentlich präsenter und hat bei jedem akzentuierten Anschlag (mit der Stockkante auf den Rand des Beckens) einen "Chik" Sound. Der Klang ist relativ hoch und schön scharf, genau so wie man es sich bei einem Tambourin wünscht.
Für einen etwas experimentellen Sound kann man den Ring auch z.B. auf das Ride Becken legen, dann klingt es ungefähr drei mal so lang wie normal und hat einen interessanten "Sizzle" Sound.
Rein musikalisch würde ich den Ring bei einem Konzert aber nicht für mehr als 20% bis 30% der Songs nutzen, einfach weil der Sound eine besondere Charakteristik hat, die nicht überall passt und auch weil man sich an dem Sound irgendwann satt hört.
Es ist eben ein Add-On, kein Must-Have. Und genau den Zweck erfüllt es hervorragend. Für manche Drummer ist es sicherlich auch interessant, den Ring auf die Snaredrum zu legen, um "Tambourin-Akzente" auf die Zählzeiten 2 und 4 zu erzielen.

Die Verarbeitung ist sehr solide, ich kann mir kaum vorstellen dass es jemals kaputt gehen wird.

Für den Preis gibt es nichts zu meckern.
Mehr Geld auszugeben lohnt sich nur, wenn man im Laden mehrere testet und nach subjektivem Geschmack den besten Sound auswählt.

Der Dry Ching Ring wertet jeden Schlagzeug Sound auf und bringt mehr Diversität, vor allem auf dem Hihat.
