My son(15, classical guitar) and I use this as both an Otamtone in the normal sense, and as a ribbon controller for a sampler, In both cases it gives a beautiful sound* through the much larger internal speaker, the ribbon is much easier to use with adult size hands (I find the original a little small) and the wah-wah mouth is excellent.

For me, the larger size, better ribbon controller, and controller, audio output, and external power make this is a big improvement on the original.

* In native mode it sounds like an original Otamatone but if you are reading this I assume you know what that sounds like.(it is not for everyone)

I bought this as a birthday present for my friend and honestly it was so fun to play only I wasn't that great at playing it. But she loved it and honestly it made me want to buy another one as it is a very funny and nice instrument. Sadly I haven't gotten around to buying another one as I've been very pre occupied with teaching but as soon as I feel like a new instrument I know this is what I'm going to purchase.

Prestaciones engañosas y mucho que solucionar.

Ya conocía algunos "problemas" de su diseño que podrían solucionarse con un poco de maña o chapuzas extra (las anillas de sujeción de la bandana, el dibujar o pegar alguna señal para "marcar" la altura de las notas...) pero lo primero que he comprobado es que el mecanismo de abrir y cerrar la boca que se supone que hace wah o modula el volumen, directamente no hace ABSOLUTAMENTE NADA. Éso ya me mata el producto, porque lo que sale en las demos de internet son algo totalmente engañoso y hasta artero: lo único que se hace al apretar la boca del muñeco es "ahogar" a mano tapada el altavoz del instrumento. Sí, en serio. De hecho, con auriculares o sacando el sonido por línea, lo de manipular la boca no tiene efecto alguno; esta advertencia es una breve frase en las instrucciones del producto (en alemán en la caja) que no se aprecia hasta que uno compra y prueba el juguete.
Aparte, (toco teclado, guitarra y ésto es una valoración personal) diría que el touchstrip tiene una sensibilidad no muy buena. Se pueden ejecutar picados, vibratos o portamentos, pero hay que presionar casi tanto como con los trastes de un instrumento de cuerda (lo que encuentro absurdo o mejorable cuanto menos) para ejecutar las notas.
Creo que lo voy a devolver, y es una pena porque no deja de ser una idea original, y seguro que echándole tiempo y con pedales de efectos debe ser toda una experiencia.
Por cierto, antes de comprarlo, recomiendo sobre todo tener una idea muy clara de cómo se va a almacenar y transportar, porque no deja de ser un artículo alargado y de plástico.
