Great for a tight very snare wire heavy sounding snare

This is a great tool for changing your snare tone. Only drawback is that it's a pretty permanent change (The dampener goes on the inside underneath the snare skin so you have to remove the snare skin to take it out). If gives the drum loads of snare sound (like the more standard rings made from drum skins but more extreme) a very now sound that can make a snare sound almost like a drum machiene snare, agiler still having the Natural change in sound from hit to hit. We have it on a pearl free floater and use that for modern sounds. Check Out the Wombats tune "give me a try", pretty sure we used it on that (though there quite possibly is a sample in there as well, I didn't mix it but the sound is in the recording too).

Vorweg: Gott sei Dank sieht man dieses, labbrige, hässliche Teil nicht, wenn man ein beschichtetes Fell verbaut hat.
Die Verarbeitung und Qualitätsanmutung ist wirklich unter aller Sau, also schnell unters Fell damit.
Ich verwende den Ring-Control auf meiner Marching/Parade-Snare und wollte einen Ersatz für Tone-Rings oder Moongel. Dafür eignet sich der Ring perfekt und die Snare wird richtig knackig und trocken im Klang.
Was auffällt: die gewohnte Spannung des Felles verändert sich durch den beigelegten Ring. Man ist verleitet, viel lockerer zu spannen, was sich aber auf die Bespielbarkeit auswirkt. Daher ruhig mutig ein paar Umdrehungen mehr auf die Spannschrauben, dann wird das richtig fein.
