Seymour Duncan Black Winter Neck

I got the set to put in a Jackson King V i've had for a while and I'm not disapointed.

The neck version is clean, responsive and super articulate.

The both versions have a lot of extreme bass and treble frequencies so they drive amps to near breaking point but the neck version has a lot more Mids than the bridge version which make it a little screamy for a neck pick up however still a nice sounding pup.

As with It is incredibly hot though so obviously not suited well for blues, classic rock, Jazz etc although they do clean up quite well they have a bit too much gain to realy be utilized for clean playing.

While split you get a hot Strat type feel with a lot clean fluid feeling so great for legato and sustained notes however more creamy than the bridge version with a bit more fluidity.

These pick ups are excellent and what more can be expected from Mr Duncan and his team?

They both versions are super hot so i'd be wary about trying them if you want something subtle but the trade off is infinete sustain(as close as you'll get) articultation and a cutting tone.

Deffinetely worth getting if you play metal or shred and even Jazz at a push but still they are very very hot.

J'ai changé les micros de mon epiphone qui étaient relativement bas de gamme pour lui donner ce qu'elle méritait... Un black winter en position manche et un dimebucker en chevalet. C'est a couper le souffle!! (certains dirons, "Mais c'est un crime!" mais j'avais envie de jouer du metal sur une guitare un peu old school...)
J'avais une petite appréhension en le commandant car il n'y avait aucun avis sur Thomann, j'ai pris le risque et je ne regrette pas! Pour changer mes micros, c'était très facile, il y a un plan avec des instructions de montage dans la boîte du micro avec plusieurs configuration possible! Toutefois, je vous conseille de ne rien dessouder si vous avez peur d'abîmer quoi que ce soit, et d'utiliser un sucre ou deux pour raccorder les fils entre eux, c'est plus pratique et vous pourrez toujours changer de micro plus tard (ce qui m'étonnerait puisque vous allez le trouver génial!)
Bref, côté son, c'est que du bonheur, en clean c'est sublime, et comme c'est un humbucker vous pourrez jouer de tout car il est de ce fait très polyvalent. Il est très harmonieux, les basses sont bien présente et les aigus leur répondent avec charmes!
En Crunch, c'est parfait pour le Blues, chaque note est bien découpée, pas fouilli du tout, et on peut retrouver de bonnes tonalités connues d'artistes jouant sur les paul et cie...
Côté metal, ça déchire, ça arrache, vous pouvez tout jouer avec un micro comme celui là! Les solos sont effarants, le tapping est archi propre, il est vraiment génial!!!

Si je n'avais pas déjà acheté ce micro, je l'achèterai sans aucune hésitation!! Je ne voudrais pas vous influencer dans votre choix mais ce micro mérite d'être reconnu, je vous le dis!!! Laissez-le vous convaincre! ;)
