Look no further.

The cure for the age old problem of skinny strat tones!

This Pickup, the ssl-6 or the staggered magnet version ssl-5 make a wimpy stratocaster bridge position tone become alive and more useful. No more thin or harsh tones. This wonderful Seymour Duncan pickup works well and balances with ssl-1's in the neck and middle position. The tones are hard to describe. Kind of like a hot telecaster/p-90 fatness.

Used on Mustang as well as Stratocaster type guitars this also works wonders in both bridge and neck positions.

Der Seymour Duncan SSL6 ist die flat-pole-Ausgabe des SSL5.

Durch die flache Anordnung der Pole ist dieser Pickup besser für moderne Griffbrettradien (9,5 oder 12) geeignet als die vintage-staggerd-Ausgabe (SSL5). Die manchmal auftretende Dominanz der G-Saite entfällt.

Der Pickup hat mehr Output als ein typischer Vintage-Pickup, bleibt vom Klang her aber doch im Vintage-Lager. Er setzt sich gut durch (ohne schneidende Höhen) und passt als Bridge-Pickup wunderbar zu den Fender Fat 50s oder CS 69. Toll für singende Lead-Sounds.

Wer den typischen Gilmour-Sound sucht, wird hier fündig.

Ich hatte den Pickup für die Mittelposition einer Steinberger Gt-pro Deluxe gekauft. Auf Grund der Form der Aussparung lassen sich nur "lippenlose" Pickups einsetzen, was die Auswahl direkt eingeschränkt hat.

Die Gitarre ist von mir als Rock/Metal-Gitarre bestückt und da passt der SSL-6 wie die Faust aufs Auge. Er hat ein hohes Output und einen fetten Klang. Auch in gemischten Positionen mit den Humbuckern (im Autosplit) kann er sich wunderbar behaupten.

Auch Clean liefert er einen klaren, vollen Ton.
