For the price, omg!
The design is weird, but it is super practical and it doesnt slip out of your ear easily by jackets or anything relative to nipping the chord.
The sound quality is way above expected! As always superlux delivers most bang for the buck experience. I bought these as a gift, and i tried them for 20minutes, going back to my studiomonitors or regular cellphoneearplugs was very deppressing, the colorisation and dynamic is very good!
Some music styles it doesnt give good coloring, but could sound a bit harsh, or hard...but thats the only downside i could find, and that could pretty much be the music production itself.
CONS......theres one, the chord was very short, and it came with a split plug jack, i dont know why or what function, but it could actually be a very good thing, because you could just unplug it, snap it through your tshirt or bag, and still have the earbuds in your ear...or even listen to someoneelses phone and just plug in :) Its also possible to have y connector and split into 2 people :) I will be most definately buy one of these for myself..id like to see these with microphone so that its compatible with cellphone as a handsfree. Highly reccommend these for music, running, workouts, gardening...whatever!

Great value for money. Superlux rulez!
I love head- and earphones and own a lot of them. After all the recommendations I had to try these tiny inexpensive in ear phones. And like their brothers, the flat frequency response models, they are just great. They have a lot of details, a rich bass that's perhaps too boomy for some listeners and quite a good stage. Compared to other in ears I know (like Sennheiser or Shure) they are on the same level regarding the sound. Build quality is okay... like other hi-fi-ear-phones. The Shures for professional in-ear-monitoring purpose are ruggedly designed, but they cost five times as much. I will handle the Superlux with care and believe they will last long enough for that price.
I think these are great earphones especially for that price! Give them a try if you like a good dose of bass, otherwise try their brothers, the F-model, which has a more cleaned up low end.

Best for the price
The Superlux HD 381 are great. I had to buy new inears for my band on stage and practice room because my lovely UE inears were broken. I´ve tested this inears with never in mind that these inears are so great, i´ve never heard any inears for that price wich were so clear and bring the sound as good as he is to the ear. Sure the class of the UE is it not because of the clarity and the noise reduction but for practice and not so loud stages the Superlux HD 381 are great also for backup in live situation. There are to version with different character so you can chose wich sound do you prefer very nice. After lot´s of pratice and using the Superlux HD 381 still works. One good thing is also that the dirt from the ear can´t move into the inear there is thin sheet metal before that is very good.

Good headphones
Last year we began to use in ear monitoring in the band, so I had to buy some new headphones, because the stock ones were much too bad.
Because I'm a poor student I wanted to try out some lower priced headphones.
The superlux HD 381 are cancelling the environmetal sound very good, but the comfort is not the best. After 2 hours in the rehearsal room you can really feel the headphones and the ear begins to hurt.
The cable is long enough for the most intended uses.
I can recommend this headphones for everyone who wants to try out in ear monitoring for the first time.

Nice and useful
Of course, sound isolation can't be compared to proper over-ear drummer's headphones, but it's good enough for regular daily use.
The extension cable though has come handy a lot. It's something that I never thought I would need, but it's just been super useful.
Simply said, superb earphones.

excellent outside isolation, to the point that you have to be careful if you're listening through them while walking / driving / working.
The sound response is not the most flat you can get from a pair of earphones, but for listening to electronic music or metal it's the best deal at that price range

comfortable, but they feel flimsy. cheaply made. the cable is extremly thin and feels vulnerable.
Sound wise, they are pretty good. neutral, no harsh frequencies.

Feel really cheap but sounds great.
They feel REALLY cheap. Like those headphones you get with cheap cellphones. However. They have a very comfortable fit and a nice, clear even frequency response. I recommend, but handle them with care.

Superlux HD 381
These little headphones provide a comfortable listening experience, with sound quality far above their price range. The y would not be a set to be used with passive noise cancelling in mind, as they are a semi-open version. However the trade off is an open and airy soundstage. I would normally listen to all music types and have yet to find a genre which makes the struggle. Well worth the purchase!!!!

Using them a with high end smartphone but also with a audio interface.
The good:
They sound great, rich bass, good lows and nice mids.
Very balanced on low end.
The wierd cable strap or whaterver is great even though it looks like hell.
Decent volume.
The bad:
They look like they will fall apart in your hand (still they will last, they just look cheap)
Short cable and i dislike using the extesion.
Overall they are a decent pair of headphone, buy them.
