A terrific Tam tam, amazing depth of sound! Ideal for larger scale orchestral playing, and in my opinion superior to equivalent size Paiste Tam-tam, with a richer sound (despite being significantly cheaper). It is worthwhile visiting Thomann in person as Wuhan Tam-tams can be variable in pitch and timbre, but the store were very helpful in fascilitating this, and had a number for me to choose from.

Initially I was skeptical buying an unbranded product, but really trust in Thomann quality and service. The 40" Tam Tam arrived very quickly and well packaged and protected. It's sound is truly awesome, such an incredible array of balanced sounds. I've played it with a whole range of mallets and friction sticks. I'm over the moon with it's massive power. I think Thomann needs to improve the sound clips for the gongs. They don't do any justice to this item. If your looking for a power house of a Tam Tam, don't hesitate to buy one! Great value for money and just as good as the major brands that we know. Going with the 40" wind gong next and will review.
