There is something special about those heads

I used those on my bebop maple kit and it love the sound . Round and full even at moderate-high tuning and . Nice tone but yet somewhat controlled .

Aquarian "Jack DeJohnette" heads

I recently tried out a set of these on a new DW Collectors kit I own.

As to be expected from Aquarian, the quality is faultless. This 10mil mylar film used produces a "wetter" studio type sound, slightly "choked" with the heavy black coating.

I nice head but not really worth the higher price difference.

maybe it's because they have Jack de Johnette printed on the head, so that when I look down at my drums while playing I get inspired, maybe it's the black rough texture that just looks so good, or maybe it's the tone like no other heads I've ever played; (and I've been playing since the mid 70's. you can tune then tight and high, or low and funky, they are simply the best heads I've ever played, end of story...
