Bright Steel Tone
James K. 24.04.2018
These strings come with the quality I always expect of Daddario, They sound extremely bright and seem to hold their tone longer than most other brands of string, especially for steel strings.
Although these strings do feel slightly textured I found it very quick to get used to the textured feel (I usually play Nickel Strings) and also despite the strings being steel I am noticing no negative effects on my frets.
Overall I will purchase these strings again for their fantastically bright piano like tone (albeit slightly more agressive sounding).

After years of searching...
Anónimo 08.06.2016
... I finally have the sound I've lusted for.

Bright, growly, ringing tones that cut through the mix. Great for metal (Pantera, Megadeth et al), or Stoner Rock.

Mine were fitted to an old Peavey Grind that I've upgraded over the years. That bass has always sounded muddy and flat and I've always struggled to brighten it up, as a result, I haven't really enjoyed playing it. It now has a new lease of life. I'm very, very impressed at how well this bass responded to these strings.

I also have a set fitted to my Jackson David Ellefson Kelly Bird and they sound great on there too. For the same bright, growly reasons.

These strings are a nice addition to any 'rock' bass.

Daddario EPS170 Bass Guitar Strings
Anónimo 27.02.2015
If you like the bright tone of new strings and the deep bottom end then these are your new strings. They have a great tone throughout the sound spectrum with even tone and balance between the different strings. They keep their super brightness for awhile and then mellow out to a bright tone. My last set of strings has lasted me 3 months, and my bass is due for a new set. This is with a lot of practices and live gigs with tons of sweat on them and a quick wipe down afterwards. I have found my permanent strings. Through my years of playing I have tried every string maker out there and D'Addario are my favorites due to their consistency between each set of strings, tone, price, and easy on the fingers while playing.I wish that I could get an endorsement from D'Addario.

This set really surprised me. Nice brightness and lots of bottom.
The correct sound i was looking for.
If you are a funk bas man, then this is maybe a set you need to try.
