Latest DiMarzio Pre B-1
Had an original Pre B1 in a Tele which sounded great, but got broke so I've replaced it with this version. The main difference seems to be cosmetic, the latest pickup looks more like a traditional Teie pup but that seems to be it, I don't know if anything else has been changed but it's still nearly 15k and matches the PAF in the neck spot on.

Great affordable pickup
I replaced my Dimarzio Chopper with the Pre-B1 on my Fender mx tele.
It was a very wise decision, since I wanted an open single coil sound with good bunch of mids and less twang.
The pre-B1 delivers them all and is quiet as well (please note my tele is shielded).
The sound is suitable for rock / indie / punk-rock. With a high gain amp perhaps even metal. The Pre-B1 sounds organic.
Installation is easy. You will find a little note about grounding your bridge.
Somehow the the chopper seemed to lack mids in a certain range and didn't feel organic.
