Nice strings on a budget
Anónimo 09.06.2015
Bought to go on a scrappy student bass I'm very pleased with how nice these strings have turned out. I can't speak for bowing but for Jazz pizz. they can put out a good volume and have a pretty even round sound all over the range (except the open G which has a little too much zing on it).

They're not noticeably wider than plain steel, so there was no need to file the slots in the bridge or nut any wider, and personally I find the slight powdery feel of the nylon tape nicer than steel to play on.

And just as a little after thought, they look very slinky.

At last a reasonably cheap but very good good set of double bass strings
Keepcalmandplaybass 19.06.2023
Very happy with these after trying several other makes. among the cheapest I have tried, but they have proved to be better in sound and feel to the others. My Bassix semi-acoustic double bass has proved tricky to install strings on - other sets would unravel when tuning up, (due partly to the bridge design on my particular one-off model). The Pyramid set, however were easy to install and tune up - and have held their tuning ever since. I only play with fingers so cannot comment on arco, but for my attempts at jazz style playing they feel great under the fingers and sound perfect - warm and woody with just enough thud'. Thomann cannot be faulted for packaging and delivery (to the UK in this instance).

Pyramid Black Tape Nylon
Harmless 10.07.2015
Great strings for this price. I was looking for budget strings for my cheap plywood double bass and these must be one of the best pizzicato strings at this price range. E,A and maybe D string too are good and sounds very mellow but the G string sounds a bit too metallic for my taste. Not as mellow as the rest of the strings. All in all good strings for pizzicato. Haven't tried arco.

Unusually short!
Anónimo 08.02.2016
These seem to be pretty good strings for the price - or they would be, if they were long enough for all 3/4-scale basses! The useful length of string is only around 133cm on the G, so beware and measure first if you plan on using them on bigger 3/4 basses or ones with an unusually long bridge-to-tailpiece measurement, especially Stagg and Palatino electrics (which come up a couple of centimetres too long overall, even with a very low bridge).

Feel-wise, they seem alright for mid-priced pizz strings. No comments on playability, since I can't play them!
