Faz o trabalho e bem!

Comprei a Steinberg UR-RT2, para um estúdio que trabalha essencialmente com plug-ins e vsts e algum hardware. A ideia era mesmo só ligar um sintetizador/controlador e ter algumas entradas extra para outro sintetizador, ou microfones, ou guitarra/baixo, algo assim.
A decisão de comprar a UR-RT2 veio após uma RME Babyface ter-se danificado (por dentro e o arranjo ser 300€. Por usar o Cubase e por esta placa de áudio ter tão boas reviews, Para além disso conta com transfomers NEVE (e nota-se a diferença, especialmente com alguns instrumentos) e é de construção Yamaha.
Por mais que goste da RME Babyface, não posso dizer que esta esteja num patamar inferior, pois não o está de modo algum.

Prós:
Qualidade de som (e ainda melhor com os Neve transformers)
Construção bastante sólida
Integração com o Steinberg Cubase
MIDI impecável em termos de latência

Contras:
Pena que não tenha mais canais de entrada

Audio quality is great, clean and does what it says on the tin. Being able to introduce the neve transformer into the signal path is a welcome option while recording.

Build quality is fantastic, heavy metal enclosure and good feeling albeit a bit small knobs. The black part of the housing will take fingerprints.

Low latency monitoring is engaged by default, and there is no hardware switch to disengage it. To disable you will need to install the dspMixFX software, open it and mute the channel. Audio will still be sent to your DAW in this configuration, just muted in the monitors.

The included power supply is region swappable, but strangely only comes with a type C plug. Those in the UK will need an adapter or spare 12v DC barrel power supply.

Quite an upgrade from the UR22

I replaced my trusty old UR22 with the RT-2 and the jump in quality is apparent - the recorded sound is clearer, more dynamic, the acoustic sounds have a bit more "soul and oomph" (terribly vague, I know), the guitars are livelier and punchier.
The only downside compared to the UR22 is the required power supply (the UR22 was USB powered), but it's obvious the new Neve transformers need more juice than the USB powering can provide.
