I'm a satisfied UAD2 user since almost 10 years, so I'm not new to the system.
I've bought this Octo card to replace my old Duo, in order to benefit from its much increased DSP power.
While older Universal Audio plugins can still be ran in many instances even on a Duo system, latest ones are very DSP hungry, so the Octo is the best choice when you want to run large mixing session with a lot of heavy plugins such as latest channel-strips and/or tape emulations.
Quality of this card is like are used to for every other Universal Audio product: well built, very straightforward to be installed and configured, it simply works.
I just had to remove the Duo, plug the Octo, power my computer, and re-authorize the system: in 5 minutes I was ready to work again, with 4x the DSP power I had before.
Thomann service, as usual, is fast, professional and kind; they are official Universal Audio dealers, and that's an added value in case of eventual future need of support.

This product is just amazing! It works without any problems and sounds fantastic- it feels like real hardware units inside my DAW.

I had this in a PC PCIe slot with Windows and now have moved it to Sonnet PCIe expansion box and connected to Mac along with 2 more cards of the same type. They just quietly get on with their business and let me use UAD plugins seamlessly without fuss or bother. If you're looking to get into the UAD plugin thing, you will absolutely not regret it.

an extremely high quality product, smartly designed and operational, is set up in the computer and no longer need to think about it, a compelling addition to daw's recording software, giving it a great deal of sound processing with a wide variety of effects and enough dsp drives to make quality audio production
