I tried these strings having read reviews elsewhere. I usually play on either Pirastro Obligatos or Passiones and like a warm and rich sound. These strings fit the bill very well. They are very responsive, have a nicely complex sound and settled quickly (more quickly than Passiones certainly!). They allow a wide dynamic range and provide clarity of note even when playing ppp on lower strings (often a problem with violas typically having a lot of ‘surface sound’

They are only a few days in so far so can’t comment on longevity. I used the synthetic cored A.

Note that the length specifications for these strings is vibrating length not back or body length.
