Pleasantly surprised
Brought this kit a while ago and only recently managed to put it together, a fast job, maybe 2 and a half hours at Best.
I had upgrades in mod but decided to give it a go as is and the stock pickups surprised me and the pots operate smoothly.
The neck came straight, and was straight after some months in a box, and the fretwork was flawless; I was able to set the action way lower than expected.
Only downsides seem to be the sealer on the body that was sanded a bit too much around the edges but nothing worth complaining about and the tuners that seem a bit flimsy, but do respond well to comands.
All in all a nice kit with decent electronics and pickups.

A nice SG style kit for the enthusiast looking for a budget build
Overall, this guitar was made of (barely) acceptable parts. The hardware is decent, strings are good, neck was crafted and finished very well.
The only negative point (and worst) of this kit is the quality of the body which was very poor, because basswood is a very soft and light material and not suitable for this kind of build (swapped out tuners for high quality ones, resulted in heavy neck dive)
The over-softness of this wood makes the body prone to heavy damage even from light dings.
If the neck is leveled and frets are re-crowned and polished, it makes for a serious contender to upper range guitars.
The rest of the parts are well within the ratio of price and quality.
1/10 for the body.

Very good for custom modifications
This is the third time I buy a Harley Benton kit.
The quality of the elements is very good, with small imperfections, but which do not cause special problems for assembly.
The body of the guitar is made of rengas, a very pleasant looking wood, in the case of a natural or semi-transparent finish. I opted for a 2-color sunburst finish (metallic black with metallic red).
The keys on the fretboard will need to be slightly filed at the edges.
The pickups are vintage, that is, relatively low-medium output with prominent bass and treble.
Tuners are decent and do not lose tuning.
Of course, the strings can be used for a while, but it would be good to change them for a better feeling and sound.
Overall the guitar is quite easy to play and sounds interesting, with less fat than a real SG.
