I've found my new cable!

I needed a guitar cable for gigging. It was to run from my pedal board to the mixing desk. I wanted something of quality & robust that would take the rough & tumble of life on the road. I would, in the past, normally go for other brand names that were lay flat with Neutrik connectors. I had purchased some other Sommer XLR cables and was impressed with the quality of the Hicon connectors. So I decided to give this a go.

It arrived on time and well packaged as always with Thomann. Straight out of the box it looks impressive. The first thing that stands out are the gold plated jacks with the chunky, gripped casing. There is a clear plastic ring that accommodates a label if you want to do so. The connectors are locked with some form of thread lock so it will take some force to get them to open. The cable is semi-rigid and does not exactly lay flat. If you are someone who likes to move around on stage, this could cause you some issues. However, it is super strong. The outer jacket of the cable has a smokey coloured hew and is see through. There is a substantial metal mesh clearly visible through the jacket. This gives it strength and adds to the semi-rigidness. The strain relief on the cable is awesome. I think you could swing out of this cable and not have any issues. The sound quality is good to my ears.

All in all, this cable is built for the road and to take abuse. I would highly recommend it or rental companies who struggle with constantly repairing cables. This will be my forever cable for gigging. I will be adding 1 or 2 to every order to build up a collection. I will also be using at home in the studio. Great product yet again & excellent value from Thomann. Highly recommended!

Great cable for the money.Qualty feel is very good and sound is so much better then the cable i used before. Yes ,a good cable makes a difference. Higly recomended !

Bargain cable for the price

I added this to an order on the off chance as I needed a spare and the price was a real bargain for a cable this long with quality plugs too. To say I was surprised at the quality is an understatement! It's safe to say it's now my main cable and the ones I used to use are now relegated to being "spares".

Now I'm not a big believer in cables dramatically making you sound amazing, but this cable is low capacitance like all the premium brands and therefore stops you losing too much top end in your signal. It retains all the signal you want and gives you none of the noise you don't, even whilst handling it there is no noise or RF interference whatsoever. It also looks amazing with its transparent cover, is easily handled/coiled, and is bi-shielded with copper and carbon. Only gripe I would have here is that its a little stiffer than some cables and some folk won't like that kind of feel, I don't mind personally and it's not affected my playing live or in the studio.

It is extremely well made with quality hi-con jacks that are easily a match for the best connectors out there, these alone are £3 each! Plus it comes with a handy cable tidy too which is always a bonus. Mine has lasted 4 years already and although I've lost some of the writing the cable looks as good as new.

To top it off for a 4.5m cable this is an absolute bargain price, buy it you won't regret it!

Worth the investment as an instrument cable.
