Sounds amazing

Superb bass extension without boost which fits me perfectly, use them primarily to listen to music and gaming, for gaming I use the reveal vst plugin which makes them sound abit easier and with a little bass boost, for music I like them better without.
Not hard to drive but not as easy as the 20 Ohms would suggest and an amplifier will improve the sound even if it doesn't sound bad from either my iphone or macbook directly they surley sounds fuller, clearer and meatier with an amp.

Also they are heavy and have quite the clamping force for wich i deducted one star for comfort.
They are in no means uncomfortable and I have no problems waering them hours on end but you will never forget that you are wearing headphones.

Best pair of headphones I've ever had.

These headphones are just amazing. I have other headphones in the same price range but I always end up reaching for the Audeze. The sound is so full, especially in the low end where you can hear sub frequencies better and clearer than many high end speakers. It's a pleasure listening to them.

Awful unit – not representative of all models, but bad unit variance/quality control

I bought these headphones for both listening to music and producing music after reading reviews of them about how they are meant to be very non-fatiguing and detailed, so they can be played at louder volumes without discomfort, as an upgrade for my Sennheiser HD600's. However, I was very disappointed by mine. The treble seemed very harsh and distorted, and the upper midrange actually had a peak around 2.8 KHz, both of which led to music getting quite uncomfortable before even reaching 25% volume on my amp. It seems as if my pair had bad harmonic distortion in the treble, as it basically sounded like harsh and unpleasant fizz in music with a lot of treble detail. Comfort-wise, they are heavy, but the weight didn't bother me at all. The headband does a good job at distributing the weight. However, the seal on the earpads did cause discomfort and pain for me due to the feeling of inequal pressure it causes. No one really mentions this, so avoid these if you're sensitive to very airtight seals and ear pressure changes. I imagine other pairs would sound better than mine, but this kind of quality control on 1300€ headphones isn't acceptable.
