If you're looking for a light pair of cans with outstanding sound, good build quality while also being very comfortable -- you've got the DT-990's.

I've now been using these headphones for over 6-months with sessions lasting way past 6 hours at a time.
If you're worried about these headphones squeezing your head, making it uncomfortable after just a couple of hours or even 30 minutes - don't.

Highs might be a bit too pronounced for some people, but that comes with personal preference. If you're looking for a more leveled sound, go for the DT-880's, and the DT-770's for closed-back with good base.

You will want some sort of AMP or DAC/AMP to get the most out of these cans, but most modern motherboards will do the job just fine.

These headphones are open-back, meaning they barely cancel any noise. So if you've got a significant other or family members who are easily disturbed, keep that in mind.
Aside from that, these are a brilliant buy for the price, especially if you can find them on sale.

Absolutely perfect for mixing, producing, mastering, watching movies, gaming and music is just unreal. I cant believe the quality when listening to music or movies. When producing its so easy to tell where every sound is located and everything about its character, this makes it so easy to make decisions in production, it just revolutionized my production since i only used very old speakers before these! The comfort is super soft and nice, for me they were a bit hard pressuring on your head the first 2 months but after that they are now the perfect fit. I use these everyday for maaaany hours, like 5-6 every day! Love them!

The single only downside with these are that if you watch videos with people talking, like interviews, some high frequency voices and letters and words and piercing high in your ear with this headset that has a boost in the high frequency range. This can be lowered with some equalization program though, but its a bit annoying.. The price is a bit high, but i looked for 2 years for the best headset in this price range, and this is it and they are easily worth the price. Keep in mind you need an audio interface to get the most out of these, but they do have connection for phones if you unscrew the larger adapter preassembled, and it did work on my phone (nexus 5x) with no problems. They do require a lot of power though so be safe look up and ask on forums if your phone can power these 250 ohm headset.

These must be the most comfortable phones I've ever had on my head! Why pay for going to a spa when you can just slip on these headphones.

The sound is very clear and detailed, I think the open sound construction helps with that. It is very easy picking out specifics in the sound and it also is completely unrestrained, so mixing with these is not a problem.

Not the sturdies of headphones but in a studio environment it is absolutely fine. There is also spareparts to buy, like the velvet protection for the ear cushion.

I use different headphones for different purposes but these are my favorites when it comes to comfort and sound.

Jag har använt dessa i några år som studiohörlurar men använder dem mindre o mindre ... de är lite tunga att driva, kan rekommendera en hörlursförstärkare till dem. Annars är de bra för studiosammanhang, extra plus för att vara "öppna hörlurar".
Anledningen till att jag inte använder så ofta nu för tiden är egentligen dels att jag köpte en Kemper och jag tycker av någon anleding att ljudåtergivningen är dåligt med dessa. Faktum är att när jag precis fått hem Kempern så körde jag med lurarna först o blev så besviken (på Kempern) att jag tänkte skicka tillbaka den först. Insåg sedan att problemet faktiskt låg i lurarna! Sedan köpte jag ett par Boze hörlurar och visst - dom är dyrare men har bättre ljud och avsevärd högre komfort.
Men som slutord, detta är inte några dåliga hörlurar - prisvärda och särskilt då om du har någon form av hörlursförstärkning.

Köpte in mina DT-990 i början på 2020, så har ägt dem i ungefär fyra år nu.

Klockrent och klart ljud, open-back designen ger ett väldigt behagligt och "rymligt" ljud. I utbyte så släpper lurarna så klart in en del oväsen från omvärlden, så jag skulle inte rekommendera dem om ni har mycket stök runt omkring.

Byggkvalitén och komforten är det bästa jag har upplevt, jag använder regelbundet lurarna i 8+ timmar i sträck utan bekymmer. De väger nästan ingenting och klämmer inte särskilt hårt om huvudet.

Även efter tusentals timmars användande så är mitt exemplar i fantastiskt skick, har dock beställt ett par nya öronkuddar då originalen kan behöva fräschas upp lite.

Kort och gott, de bästa hörlurarna jag har haft, och kommer att använda dem så länge de håller.
