Made my guitar come to life!
Per W. 23.09.2016
I use these on a Godin 5th Avenue Kingpin.

When I bought the guitar secondhand it had really old acoustic phosphor bronze-strings on it, so I adjusted the guitar and put stainless .011?s on it.

This worked fine, but I was curious since Godin stated that these guitars were delivered with their own brand of nickelwounds gauged .012-.052 and named (surprise!) EJ21 JAZZ LIGHT.
I would be surprised if Daddario isn?t the maker of Godin?s strings - they do use the same name for what seems to be the same product.

Qualitywise there isn?t much to say other than they seem to be what guitar strings should be: Even - both physically and tonewise.
(I will not point my finger and mention names, but there are some pretty expensive strings on the market that you simply can?t make play in tune because the core is uneven and, for lack of better description, plays out of tune with themselves even when you play just a single string.)

The switch from thinner strings to these .012?s really made the guitar SING acoustically and I?m a little more in love with the Godin.
Highly recommended!

D
Great strings, great price.
Deermountain 02.09.2017
I use the D'Addario EJ21 on my Levin Archtop (a Swedish made guitar from 1962), and I think they're quite as good as it gets.

I've tried some different high quality brands, but keep coming back to D'Addario. Reasonable priced, never had a bad one/break one and i think they really make my guitar sing. They have this warm brilliance, which i really dig.

No cons for me!

Would recommend!

Good quality, good value.

I use these on a Gibson 175 and the gauge is pretty much perfect for me on this instrument. I've used D'addario strings on quite a few other instruments and always found them dependable. In this case I particularly like the balance of the lower strings - in some other sets of this gauge the D and A strings can be a little light, relatively speaking. With these, there's no such issue.

These are of course a little brighter than pure nickel strings, but that's not a bad thing. When you first put them on, to my ears they are a little over bright but very quickly settle down as the string plays in. They don't seem to go dull as quickly as pure nickel strings either. With good care and cleaning after each session these strings are very durable and keep their intonation for a long time.

Sealed packaging is good, which allows you to buy in bulk and receive a discount. Even without this, these are attractively priced strings, and the quality is dependable, something that can't always be said for some other well known brands.
