Perfect for my needs
I'm using it with a paid of Genelec 8030B in a very small room (6sqm) so that the lower frequencies are heard and and the bass in general sound "normal" and I love the result. Very much an overkill for this small room, of course. May not be perfect for mixing and production out of a "studio sound"-view, but I love it. Great build and quality feel overall. (Had to buy an additional grill for the element because of toddler). :)

Very good.
I have had a couple of ESI nEar 08 for 12+ years with my main computer setup and they still work excellent. So the choice for my synth setup was pretty clear. I bought the aktiv 05 and the accompanying aktiv 10s subwoofer.
I'm happy with them. Even though this is the "low end" of their monitors they still got the volume and sound quality I have been used to and on top of that, they are built like a tank.
This subwoofer can play some mean volume and delivers very good lower end accompanying the aktiv 05's. Do some fiddeling with the crossover and volume to get the sound you like and there you go.
Sure, there are superior monitors but for the price they certainly don't dissapoint. I'm happy.
