TS cable seen as shorted by default
I would easily give this product 5 stars but there's a built-in manufacturing issue that is baffling. If you test a TS 1/4" cable (i.e. an unbalanced instrument cable) it will show it as shorted because the 1/4" in/out expects a TRS (balanced) cable. This seems like a super-easy hardware fix with a simple selector on the unit. The documentation bldly claims the unit supports TS cables(!) which is technically true as long as you Pavlov yourself into accepting your perfectly good cables been shown as faulty. If you ask me, I find this tough to swallow, especially when 90% of the cables I bought it to test are 1/4" TS ones.

good product
Very good product, especially for the prise. Checking TR plugs is a bit tricky. 3/1 fault should be read as 'pass' , not mentioned in the manual.

Very solid and functional
I'm happy with the build quality but the operation is very basic but does the job. I like the intermittent feature and the installed cable function would works pretty well. It is a good thing to have on the road and at this price point the features are very good. If you want more you have to pay more. I recommend this tester, any keyboard live rig would benefit for having this in the road case.

Tested all my cables for a new studio move
Device worked really well for weeding out those intermittent cables that sometimes work and sometimes don't. XLRs, balanced jacks, guitar cables, USB A to B... even mini jack leads! Worth every penny to have that confidence when you take them all out for a job.

Decent, but not great
Addition of Speakon is a nice touch, as are USB and RJ45, but this is not as robust and intuitive as the CT100.
Can be touchy about which batteries are used, some I tried have caused screen to not function.

Extremely pleased.
My first cable tester, I use it at church. No-nonsense cable tester. Very easy to use and testing existing cables is a breeze. Multiple jack types for all common cable types: XLR, 1/4" jacks, 1/8" jacks, USB, MIDI, RCA, Ethernet, speaker. "Intermitent" test for cables (testing of temporary disconnection) is gold. Extremely happy with purchase.

A definite upgrade from the CT100.
I've used the CT100 for years, both as a very solid cable tester and as a great mount for soldering cables on-the-fly. The CT200 is built to the same indestructible specification and shares lots of the same features, but adds USB, Speakon and Cat5 to that.
The additional functionality means the original idiot-proof 3x3 LED matrix is no longer used, instead using a numerical display and coloured LEDs to describe connected/crossed/open cables.
This makes it a little less intuitive to use, and although it's great for confirming standard cable connections, it displays correctly connected unbalanced jack-jack cables as 'crossed' which is a bit annoying. However the additional cable types available for testing are great, and the further functionality in terms of crossed/open/shorted/phantom on individual LEDs is really useful.
Overall well worth the small additional cost over the CT100.

Solid construction, business like - but not for me
A very good selection of connector types (although a few more USB connector variants would be good) in a solidly built, professional looking box.
I found it somewhat annoying that the 1/4" jacks are wired so that only stereo jacks get the 'Green' OK light. Mono jack cables display as some sort of fault - because the tester reads the ring and the sleeve as shorted. That notwithstanding, it is a handy and very reasonably priced addition to any band tool kit

ok
Very good quality, perfect for the price, unfortunately it is not possible to test 6.35mm TS jack like in guitar cable, only TRS.
