Does NOT fit vintage Premier kits!
Pontifff 07.09.2018
I bought this as a previous reviewer here said it worked on their vintage Premier kit with slotted tension rods. It does NOT fit Premier rods very well at all! The slot is too thick and you'll end up damaging the heads trying to turn them especially at higher tensions. Not the greatest quality but I'm sure it works fine on Sonor drums.

Works well on the 90% of my lugs but is discussions with a friend I've found out that these won't constantly fit Premier Drums as they're are a standard fir.

Sonor Tuning Key
Philip1400 17.11.2019
As it says it is for SONOR slotted screws, don't use this key for any other slotted screws, even if sometimes the slot fits; the diameter of the screw will still be loose and eventually the key would slip out causing damage to the non-sonor screw. I've had this key with my daily keys for a while and the chrome plating is still intact.

Sonor slotted screw

This is an inferior quality chrome slotted tuning key in comparison to the original premier one that came with my 1973/1974 Premier B303 kit. I use it on my Premier 2000 snare as my other Premier Kit has hex key. I previously purchased an Evans hex key which sits nicely on a tuning rod and doesnt move whilst playing.

The thomann hex key which was a third of the price is superior build to the Sonor one and also has a hole to hang it from a chain etc if one wishes unlike the Evans one
Great drums from Sonor but accessories????

Great Drum key
Chris849 07.08.2016
Does the job as it should. I bought this just to stick in our emergency tool box that we take to gigs but purchasers should note this is for slotted head rods so in retrospect as a "cover all types" tool I should have spent a few more £ and gone for something like the Tama TMT9 Drum Multi Tool also sold by Thomann

R
Slotted Sonor key.
Rob5624 03.06.2020
Yeah it’s a drum key with a slot. It feels meaty enough to do justice to it’s brand.

Works perfect on old Premiers too
Tijl 25.01.2021
I used it to tune a '64's Premier set and it works perfectly, for me it even works a bit better than the vintage Premier key that I owned, since this one has a deeper slot.

Confused!
Anonymous 17.09.2015
Are they for old fashion drums? they're not for conventional kits... It's a little bit ignorance by my side, but... who knows everything? A little help? someone? Thanks!

Does the thing

Don't we love Sonor's proprietary tuning key?! These things aren't all that easy to track down considering how many beautiful Sonor kits out there require you to use this slotted key to make adjustments. I found it easier to import from Germany through Thomann than to track down in the USA.
