good pedal
Good pedal but if I would give one negative point it would be that there is a lot of noise if you go to the "chorus of the effect" even when on an isolated power line. But the noise is almost not noticable if you look at the al round vibe that you want to get of the effect itself.
perfect if you want to have a lo-fi sound combined with a delay and reverb.
If you are looking for a way to sound like boy pablo, rex orange county,... the indie pop genres tweaking with the setting will lead to the almost exact same sound as those guys!
the compressor is also very good and clear.
takes a bit of time to get used to all the setting but once you get it it's easy to use

Bit disappointing
Bought this for guitar after seeing some YouTube demos. It kind of does exactly what I expected it to do but I'm a bit disappointed in how much treble it seems to cut even with the treble at max. Good if you're looking for that boards of Canada sound but not sure if it's good for much else due to how muddy it sounds when in vibrato mode. Very solidly made and the chorus and compression are both decent but I just don't love it as much as I expected to for the price. I'll find a good use for it - think it would work very well with keyboards - just a bit underwhelmed.

Too muddy??
Good lofi pedal. Great vintage boards of canada analog equipment sound
for guitar and synths. Takes out a bit too much high end for my liking, always find myself EQ'ing the highs back in. Can be muddy and make quite a bit of noise. Built like a tank.

Overall the build quality is superb, and the pedal works nicely both with guitar and synths. My only minor gripe is that the sounds tend to get a bit muddy – which is typical for broken cassette / tape emulators but it feels more obvious with lo fi junky vexter.

Will change you life :-)
If you are looking for inspiration, for something special, something different, with some more features, interactive and doesn't matter it's a little noisy and bassy, than this pedal is for you!! I love Z.Vex pedals, the are everytime exactly this. If you lack for an inspiration, try Instant Lo-Fi Junky or Fuzz Factory or Woolly Mammoth and wail away on your imagination...and don't forget to press "record" and from time to time get bact to the ground :-)))

Unique Pedal
I recently bought this pedal after seeing it crop up more and more frequently - I saw that Yvette Young of Covet is a fan.
It's a blend of compression to chorus to a lo-fi sound (as the name would suggest).
The compression is the first thing you notice, it is very responsive and still allows for dynamic and nuanced playing.
The chorus is very nice - although if you're looking for a glistening/shimmering type chorus this might not be the thing for you - it's quite a dark sounding chorus.
The lo-fi sound is amazing and, in my opinion, one of the most original effects there is. I purchased this pedal mainly for the lo-fi sound and I am very happy with it.
I'd say this pedal is for players who like the ambient moody-type soundscapes similar to Boards of Canada although I'm sure it can be applied in many other scenarios to good effect (pun intended).

A bit noisy but cool sounding pedal. Must have for all Board of Canada fans :)

This pedal is really not for everybody. It provides massive amounts of compression on all settings, and maybe adds a lot of noise. But it is a very special effect and I love it. Really good for textures and lofi stuff.
