Price-performance miracle

The Fun Generation LED Pot 12x1W RGBW is a spotlight for decorative light beams. Numerous small LEDs produce a ray with a medium-sized beam angle. The PAR lamp offers a wide range of control options at a comparatively low price. Those who wish to do so can go without any additional equipment by using the buttons on the back of the luminaire. Thanks to the double bracket, the Fun Generation LED Pot 12x1W RGBW can not only be hung from the ceiling or on a truss, it can also simply be placed on the ground as a floor spot. The fixture works so quietly that it can silently illuminate the wall behind a seating area, for example.

Numerous control options

The Fun Generation LED Pot 12x1W RGBW is a classic PAR lamp. It is equipped with 12 TrueColour LEDs. Each of these delivers one watt of power and has a narrow overall beam angle of a 25°. Three LEDs in red, green, blue, and white are present, respectively, from which additional colours can be mixed. The spotlight can be operated either with the four menu buttons below the simple luminous display, by DMX control, or with an optionally available infrared remote control. Many functions are included, from fixed and manually adjustable colours to chasers, sound control, and master-slave mode. DMX control is available in four, six, or eight-channel mode. The relatively flat plastic housing is 168mm wide, 172mm high, and only 130mm deep.

For solo entertainers, restaurateurs, and private party venues

The Fun Generation LED Pot 12x1W RGBW is an entry-level PAR for colourful decorative beams. Solo artists who always take a small lighting and sound rig with them on tour will be pleased with the low weight of the lamp - just 760g. Up to four of these spotlights can be carried in an optionally available transport bag. Restaurateurs get a decorative light that can be hung on the ceiling and conveniently controlled via the optionally available infrared remote control. The corresponding infrared sensor is located between the LEDs on the front. Those who want to illuminate a rehearsal space, a lounge, or a party room with colourful light in the evening can take the opportunity to connect a small lighting console and explore the infinitely variable DMX control.

About Fun Generation

Since 1999, the products of Thomann’s house brand Fun Generation have been an integral part of the store’s range. These products, which are made by renowned companies who also manufacture products for other well-known brands, provide a convincing combination of quality and reliability at reasonable prices. The product range includes music stands and other hardware, Bluetooth speakers, LED spotlights, moving head lighting systems, and complete active PA sets as well as LED effects, microphone pickup systems, cables, and splitters. Price-conscious customers in the field of lighting and stage technology are sure to find what they are looking for in this extensive product range, which includes over 160 items.

Illumination for lounge concerts

You want to perform in the living room with your band and are looking for some decorative spots? The Fun Generation LED Pot 12x1W RGBW can simply be placed on the floor as a floor light with its double bracket. The 1.3-metre connection cable is sufficiently long to reach the nearest socket. The spotlight should ideally be fixed in place so that nobody can knock it off balance when it is dark. Two PAR lamps will illuminate the performance background from below in changing colours, while two others can be placed on shelves or cupboards on the opposite wall to illuminate the band from the front. Now, connect all the spotlights in sequence via DMX, assign the same DMX address to each of the two front and rear lights, and connect them to a lighting console: The set is now ready for the band's performance. The darker the room, the stronger the effect of the spots.

Affordable way to spice up a small space
Nonsensei 18.01.2021
We got two of these to have a bit of variation from the basic ceiling lights of our rehearsal room. For a 25 square meter space, they're okay, but might get a couple more.

The lights are very light and the plastic housing is not going to be road-worthy. Colour mix is fine, you can get decent basic colors and a nice white light out of this. Enough connections and options that you can start setting up a basic lighting rig, but durability and reliability are a big question mark.

The sound mode is so-so. I tried with just playing drums and the lights pretty much flash at their maximum rate, which is roughly a couple of times per second. Might work with music that has a steady bass beat, like electronic music such as techno etc., but the volume level needs to be correct. Too quiet and no reaction, too loud and it might just start flashing constantly.

The auto mode seems random and without connecting the lights via DMX you're not going to get multiple lights synchronized. With a controller you might find more use, but on their own, they're mostly a static mood-creator.

We can start the party!
Filipep 21.05.2020
So no experience with any kind of lights before so I wanted first the 6 led one but decided to go for this with the 12 because more is more.
So I do not use any of the connectors or programs just set it up to Sound Mode so it catches the music played and the fun begins!
We do small parties with our friends with all the invitees able to go round and play any song they want so having some cool lights when we party is an amazing added value.
The sensitivity is set up to the max and do not be afraid if will not work instantly as you need to realize the distance from the speaker and the music volume makes all happen.
If too quiet the light will not react...the same if it is too far away from the music so I have it on top of my stereo system and with the proper volume we have so much fun with pro looking light effect!
Pro:
Super cool colors
Moves with the music
Creates a great atmosphere in any room

Cons
None as working perfectly

I do recommend to anyone who wants some fun at home like we do.
Take care and enjoy this light you will love it!

O
Suprisingly

I needed some DMX lights to play around with for not too much money since I'll mostly be using them for personal use. These lights have way more features than lights that were double the price several years ago.

The brightness is perfect and close to what my 64 Led Par produces, the beam angle is a bit tight and the colors don't mix super well, but it's good enough for this price. When combining colors you can quite clearly tell the mix of colors when shining onto a surface, but this is honestly not a big issue for me.

I first tried out an alternative by a competitor but it was missing some essential features which this one has so I ended up getting 2. It has 3 different DMX modes to fit your needs and the 2 brackets make it easy to put it on a flat surface as well. I use mine with a Chauvet Obey 10 DMX controller.

Watch our for the fan if you use these while recording
Lester Peters 23.04.2017
Bought mainly for use lighting a recording studio using DMX. The colours are bold and mixed colours (eg. yellow, purple, turquoise) are produced better than any other lights we own. If you have them above about 40% of their full capacity then they will heat up enough to trigger the internal fan, which is not loud but is too loud while recording. Fun is a great description; definitely my favourite light.
