Roland EC-10M ELCajon Mic Processor

Am achizitionat acest procesor aproximativ cu un an in urma si l-am folosit constant de atunci, intr-o formatie electro-acustica. Am fost sceptic in prima faza, legat de produs, deoarece nu cunosteam pe nimeni care sa-l fi folosit inaintea mea, dar dupa circa doua saptamani de folosire, mi-am dat seama ca acest procesor nu poate sa lipseasca din arsenalul nici unui percutionist. Pentru cei care vor sa-l cumpere in viitor, am cateva sfaturi:
1. Nu va speriati in prima faza! Trebuie sa experimentati setarile, acestea sunt numeroase, datorita faptul ca sunetul procesat si sunetul real poate fi combinat si / sau folosit total separat ambele! Eu folosesc combinatia acestora, in proportie de 70 % sunet natural si 30 % sunet procesat, deoarece asa suna cel mai bine in formatia noastra!
2. Folositi pe cat se poate, boxe de calitate, deoarece sunetele procesate vor fi mai slabe daca boxele nu sunt bune. Eu folosesc boxe Yamaha DSR112, cu un mixer digital si suna extraordinar in acestea, dar si in acest caz necesita ceva munca!
3. Cele 2 pedale sunt cam incomode pentru mine si nici nu le folosesc decat pentru alegerea sunetului de baza, dar acestea sunt rezistente! O sa achizitionez pedala externa!
4. Puteti sa-l folositi la numeroase instrumente, care au cutie de rezonanta, eu am incercat cu chitara acustica, chiatara clasica, cobza etc. La toate functioneaza perfect, dar precum v-am zis la primul punct si in acest caz trebuie sa experimentati inainte, ca sa obtineti cel mai bun sunet posibil!
Ca urmare, precum puteti observa, eu sunt foarte multumit de acest produs si recomand tuturor, deoarece pe langa faptul ca obtineti un sunet impecabil la Cajon, puteti sa-l folositi si la alte instrumente neamplificate foarte simplu!

I bought the EC10m after watching the release video from Roland demonstrated by Heidi Joubert and was very impressed by what i saw.

The question is would it live up to my expectations.

I unboxed it and inside was the unit, a power supply and the specialised microphone.

All that was required was to connect the mic up clip it onto the sound hole of the Cajon and connet the unit. The EC10m can be connected to an amp, a mixer or a PA system.

It has many functions and acts as a pre amp and a sound generator.

The controls on the unit are very intuitive and offer the facility to either amplify the traditional cajon sounds or generate electronic sounds through high and low frequency triggers.

I like the idea of being able to mix the electronic with the traditional sounds and there is also a compressor adjustment.

I have a LP Cajon and use the unit via a mixer.

There are two pads which are used to set one of the 15 voices, set up a loop or use to play pre programmed sounds like cymbals, woodblock etc.

I am concerned about the pads being used with heavy footwear and would rather connect a roland foot trigger such as the KT9 or KT10 .

The sound and quality are above my expectations and i would recommend this to increase the versatility and satisfaction of playing the Cajon.

Ich habe mir den Roland EC-10M ELCajon Mic Processor geholt um meine Cajon mit mehr Sounds auszustatten und mit dem Looper auch alleine aufzutreten, vorher die Clips auf Youtube angeschaut, die hier aber überwiegend die gesamte Roland Cajon im Einsatz zeigen.

Der Cajon Mic Processor kommt gut verpackt und der Eindruck ist wertig und stabil. Die Bedienung gestaltet sich recht intuitiv, so daß man auf die Bedienungsanleitung , wenn man sich 10 min Zeit lässt gut und gerne verzichten kann.. Aber.....
Ich spiele eine Cajon die von Haus aus schon einen kleinen Bass Tube aus Holz hat. Hier hatte ich schon die ersten Probleme das Mikrofon ( das einen guten Eindruck macht) anzubringen.

Zu den Sounds: echt überragend fand ich keinen der Sounds, brauchbar die letzten fünf, alles andere ist Durchschnitt und nichts was mich jetzt entzückt hätte.
Auch die Lautstärken Unterschiede zwischen hohen und tiefen Töne sind teilweise so extrem das man sich wünscht dies einzeln steuern zu können.
Wie gesagt die letzen fünf brauchbar. Sollte man aber auf die Idee kommen einfach während des Spielens umzuschalten taucht das nächste Problem auf, besonders bei der vorletzen Drum Bass/Snare Einstellung fliegen einem die Ohren weg, doppelt so laut wie die vorigen, mein Tontechniker bekam die Krise im Proberaum ..

Dann der Anschlag: klar muss man hier testen, wann die Töne und an welcher Stelle sie kommen, aber dass man die hohen, zumindest auf meiner Cajon, mit dem Finger antippen muss. während man im Bassbereich viel fester anschlagen muss um einen Ton zu bekommen, überzeugt einfach nicht, auch das einstellen am Threshold brachte keine Ergebnisse die befriedigend waren, schnelle Finger rolls sind Glückssache, mal schafft er es , dann wieder nicht, ausserdem erkannte er die hohen Töne nur direkt auf Kante, was jetzt auf meiner oben komplett abgerundeten Cajon bein spielen kein Problem war.

Die angebrachten Fußtreter sprechen gut an und man kann/will/sollte hier noch ein paar Beats hinzufügen könne, aber leider etwas unkreativ, von Roland wurden hier auf dem rechten Treter nur der Ton gelegt der sowieso in dem vorgegeben Programm enthalten ist, also keine Abwechslung und links immer der selbe Mini Beckensound .

Der Looper funktioniert vom Anspiel her automatisch und nach ein paar Minuten hat man raus, wann man im richtigen Moment tritt um den Loop laufen zu lassen. Der Sound der dann aus den Boxen kommt erscheint recht mulmig und einige Beats werden verschluckt, sodass man hier etwas ganz anderes zu hören bekommt als was man gespielt hat.....

Warum Roland gerade hier an der Möglichkeit gespart hat mehrer Loops spielen zu können, erschließt sich mir nicht, auch dass wenn man den Loop einsetzt, kein anderes Programm gespielt werden kann ist mir unverständlich..

Vielleicht ist es bei der Komplett Cajon ja anders und die Technik funktioniert hier soundmäßig und vom Anschlag her, aber für mich ist dieses Gerät, für diesen Preis, sehr mager. Dann doch lieber ein paar mehr Percussion Instrumente und eine vernünftige Loopstation um auch Solo auftreten zu können. Oder als Alternative für mehr Sounds das Wavedrum .

il prodotto e' interessante come idea ma poco utilizzabile per I seguenti motivi:
- I suoni poco dinamici, in quanto il mic trigger fornito agisce con la soglia impostata abbastanza puntualmente ma non offre sfumature sul tocco cioe' non appena il suono elettronico viene emesso questo non e' controllabile dinamicamente, cosa che su un cajon invece e; fondamentale.
- non si capisce perche' non e' stato inserito alcun suono di hi -hat, nemmeno tra quelli azionabili con i due pad a pedale ed invece tra questi si hanno spesso suoni identici anche su diversi kit
-non si e' pensato ad inserire un bypass azionabile a pedale che dal vivo sarebbe molto utile.
-il mic fornito funziona bene da trigger ma e' penoso per pensare di amplificare il suono acustico del cajon.
Conclusioni: Peccato perche' sono un sostenitore da sempre dei prodotti Roland ma questa volta mancano tanti accorgimenti per far diventare questo strumento qualcosa di piu' di un " interessante giocattolino"
