Nostalgia might have been the main reason why i bought the TR-06. We used it back in 1986 when the drumatix was all we had next to a synth. It was pure fun. A friend of mine argues that with today's computers, this machine has become more or less obsolete. While i do understand his point of view, i do believe that the TR-06 still has that unique way of working which is different from DAW's and VSTi's imho.

If you expect a lot of sounds, you might be disappointed as there are only a few. Roland has put a few more inside compared to the original, but it's still not much. Of course there's a lot of alternatives that contain all the old 606, 707, 808 and 909 Roland sounds. I think the only true advantage lays in the hardware-way of working, not in having a lot of sounds.

Ich mag die TR-06 wirklich sehr! Look & Feel sind hochwertig und das trotz oder gerade wegen des kleinen Formfaktors.
Der Sound ist authentisch und die hinzugefügten Soundbearbeitungs-Features sind sehr bereichernd. Im Prinzip ist die Kiste easy zu bedienen. Allerdings hat die Bedienungsanleitung den Namen nicht wirklich verdient. Vor allem die Beschreibung wie man einen kompletten Track programmiert ist übelst abgespeckt. Da hilft nur eine Onlinerecherche. Leider lassen sich zum Thema Trackprogrammierung nur spärliche Infos finden und da hilft nur experimentieren. Da ich die Pattern mit meiner MPC sample und ich die TR-06 nicht zu einem kompletten Song syncen möchte hat das Thema Trackprogrammierung für mich jedoch keine so hohe Priorität.
Nachtrag: Also Trackprogrammierung geht auch easy: 1.Tracknummer zB. Track 1 einstellen 2: Drehregler auf Track write 3: den Value Regler auf die Tacktnummer drehen dann den Pattern wählen 4: mit Tap Taster bestätigen 5: Valueregler auf den nächsten Takt stellen und den Pattern auswählen 6: erneut mit Tap bestätigen usw.
Das ganze so lange wiederholen bis der Track (Songablauf) fertig ist. Irgendwann ist der Groschen beim rumprobieren gefallen. (Ohne weiteres entschlüsseln der Bedienungsanleitung)
