Von der fast schon spielzeughaften Anmutung und der geringen Größe sollte man sich nicht täuschen lassen – der nanobox Fireball ist ein ausgewachsener Synthesizer mit reichlich Soundmöglichkeiten und wirklich gutem Klang.

Wenn man sich an die Arbeit mit den beiden Encodern, den vier Tastern und dem (sehr gut reagierenden und scharfen) Touchscreen gewöhnt hat, geht die Klangerstellung recht schnell und flüssig vonstatten. Mit den vorhandenen Wavetables lässt sich schon ziemlich viel hinbekommen, aber richtig interessant wird es, wenn man diese durch eigene im Serum-Format erweitert. Diese gibt es im Internet zuhauf kostenlos, können aber natürlich auch selbst beispielsweise per Serum erstellt werden.

Für einen gerade erst erschienenen Synthesizer ist die Firmware erstaunlich fehlerfrei, wobei es durchaus noch die eine oder andere Sache zu verbessern gibt. Allerdings soll 1010music in dieser Hinsicht wohl recht schnell bei der Sache sein und ein echter Showstopper ist für mich nicht dabei.
